Funao is a region along the Takahashi River in the western part of Kurashiki City.
It is known as a production area for Muscat of Alexandria, with grapes being cultivated in greenhouses lined on the slopes of the mountains. The cultivation of sweet peas is also active. The starting point of the waterway "Takasetoshi," which transported goods to Tamashima Port during the Edo period, is also preserved at Ichinokuchi Water Gate.
