The “Autumn Harvest! Autumn of Wine! Autumn of Music! Let’s Enjoy Autumn to the Fullest!” autumn festival will be held at Funao Winery.

I heard that, just as the title suggests, lots of fun activities are planned, so I went to find out more.

What is the “Funao Winery Wine and Music Autumn Festival”?

The “Funao Winery Wine and Music Autumn Festival” will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Live performances in a variety of genres will be held throughout the day at the venue.
Along with tastings and sales of Funao Winery wines and newly developed sweets, there will be delicious food and sweets for sale from food trucks and other vendors, as well as a raffle. It looks set to be a delicious, fun-filled day that will lift your spirits.

Free shuttle buses will run from Nishi-Achi Station on the day

Funao Winery is located in the hills and surrounded by nature, but many customers have apparently said that it is difficult to get there without a car because public transportation is not convenient.

In response to these comments, a shuttle bus will run between JR Nishi-Achi Station and Funao Winery this time.

New products from Funao Winery, all available for tasting

New products from Funao Winery will also be available. The lineup is as follows:

• FUNAO MADE Muscat Bailey A Red, Barrel-Aged (375 ml)
  The popular red wine is now available in a much-anticipated half bottle.
• Muscat Wine Cake
  A sweet, wine-scented cake for adults made with Funao Winery wine and muscat jam.
• Pione Juice
  Juice made with Pione grapes harvested this summer with a sugar content of over 20% is already here.
• Pione Jam
  A delicious sweet-and-sour jam made with the whole grape, including the skin, is now available.

The grand raffle, with one entry for every ¥3,000 spent at the Funao Winery shop, will be held again this time. Try your luck to win fabulous prizes, including wine and juice as well as the new products.

We asked manager Jogo Tetsuya about the new products

We spoke with manager Jogo Tetsuya about the newly released products.

We want to share the appeal of grapes such as Muscat of Alexandria with people who cannot drink alcohol, as well as those who choose not to drink for health or driving reasons. That is why we have focused on developing non-alcoholic products such as juice and sweets.

In addition to seasonal summer products such as our popular ice cream, we worked through trial and error to add new products that can be enjoyed year-round. The products we have finally completed and are now selling are Muscat Wine Cake, Pione Jam, and Pione Juice.

The new Muscat Wine Cake is the third product in our collaboration with Le Foyer, a well-known confectionery shop in Kurashiki.
We used generous amounts of one of our popular products, “Muscat of Alexandria Wine, Semi-Sweet,” and “Whole Muscat Jam” to create a moist cake that is not too sweet and has a refreshing, fruity aroma.

People who have tried it have told us that “the aroma of Alexandria lingers in your mouth.” It also goes well with coffee and tea.

Our other new product, Pione Jam, is made with the whole grape, including the skin, giving it a faint purple color reminiscent of Pione grapes. We hope you will enjoy its moderate tartness and the distinctive flavor of Pione grapes.

Pione Juice was also sold last year (2025), but it was so popular that it sold out before the end of the season. This year, we harvested Pione grapes with a sugar content of over 20% and used them to make this juice.

Finally, let me introduce our wine.

Funao Winery’s red wine, FUNAO MADE Muscat Bailey A Red, Barrel-Aged, has been a popular product for some time. We had received requests for a half bottle from people who wanted to take it home as a souvenir or try it out.

In response to these requests, we have finally released a 375 ml half bottle, making it more affordable than ever.

We spoke with Sokai Nami, public relations representative at Funao Winery Co., Ltd., who planned the “Wine and Music Autumn Festival.”

We planned this event because we want people to experience the appeal of Funao Winery, nestled in the mountains and surrounded by nature, along with our new products, wonderful music, and delicious food.

We will be running a free shuttle bus for the first time.
In recent years, we have started holding our own events at Funao Winery in each of the four seasons, and more people, including local residents and visitors from outside the prefecture, have been coming to visit.

We would be delighted if more people could enjoy our wine and cake without having to worry about driving or the number of parking spaces. Depending on how the service is used, we will also positively consider running it at other events.

Many vendors will be joining us again this time, with delicious food and stylish wood products among the items for sale. There will also be a grand raffle with fabulous prizes, including our new products.

The weather is gradually becoming more pleasant. We hope you will come and enjoy the event.

I like the atmosphere of Funao Winery, surrounded by mountains, and visit often. However, I am not fond of alcohol, so I usually have juice or ice cream. That is why I am really looking forward to the release of Muscat Wine Cake.

Both performances—the a cappella group in the morning and the wind ensemble in the afternoon—sound very appealing, so I am having a hard time deciding what time to visit.

There will be a shuttle bus this time, too.
