In "Gather Around! Elementary School Students," we directly interview sixth graders at the visited elementary schools to deeply explore the charm of the school everyone attends. Additionally, the "District Pride" segment introduces the good and favorite aspects of the community from the perspective of elementary school students.

We will also present heartwarming interviews that make even adults' hearts swell, as children talk about their exciting future dreams and express gratitude to their families who are always with them.

This time, we visited Fourth Fukuda Elementary School located in Kitahune, Kurashiki City.

The first to introduce the school is Hayato Watanabe. He energetically presented the charm of Fourth Fukuda Elementary School.

The school's greatest charm is that everyone's smiles are abundant, and all students from first to sixth grade are very close. He mentioned that the sixth graders, who are reliable pillars, live school life while kindly supporting the younger students.

Additionally, there are many events such as the sports presentation and the water festival, providing plenty of opportunities for warm interactions with family and community members. Furthermore, the school has four beloved mascot characters that everyone takes pride in.

Three children presented the charms of Fourth Fukuda Elementary School and the district.

1. Spreading Smiles! Energetic Greetings from the Whole Community

Mayu Komatsubara first introduced the community's pride, which is the culture of greetings that connect hearts.

During their commutes, community members kindly greet them with "Good morning," "Have a good day," and "Welcome back." Komatsubara also actively greets others with "Good morning," and she feels very happy when community members respond with smiles. She explains that exchanging greetings with smiles boosts energy, provides reassurance, and makes one feel motivated to do their best for the day.

Finally, Komatsubara said, "I want to continue greeting others proactively and cherish a community filled with smiles." Greetings are important words that connect people. I hope this proud culture of the community continues.

2. Four Mascot Characters Watching Over the Children

Next, Amato Nakami shared the school's pride, which is the four mascot characters. These unique characters, inspired by the "four" in the school's name, are beloved by the children.

Nakami particularly likes "Tsunegen-kun," who is responsible for energetic greetings. Each of the four characters has an important meaning and role, and each child has their favorite character, which is a unique charm of Fourth Fukuda Elementary School.

With these adorable characters watching over them, the children enjoy a lively and cheerful school life.

3. The Alma Mater of Senichi Hoshino, Who Supported the Baseball World

The last to present was Yuito Toyosaki. He proudly mentioned that it is the alma mater of former professional baseball player Senichi Hoshino.

Learning in the same building as a great senior who supported Japan's baseball world is a significant pride for the children.

Toyosaki, who said, "I want to become a professional baseball player in the future," hopes to one day be active in the baseball world like Senichi Hoshino and further uplift the community.

Voices of Children Looking Toward the Future

After learning about the school's charms, we also asked everyone about their future dreams.

Ten children participated in the interview this time.
They spoke about wanting to become first-class architects, professional gamers, nail artists, scientists, and even shared positive feelings about wanting to explore new paths that don’t exist yet. Imagining everyone's future dreams is exciting.

The sight of children challenging themselves with "what they love" as their driving force gave adults great courage and inspiration.
