Kojima is a region facing the Seto Inland Sea in the southeastern part of Kurashiki City.
Until its merger with Kurashiki City and Tamashima City in 1967, it was Kojima City.
It is a town that has continued to produce textile products such as school uniforms and jeans, and is known as the birthplace of domestically produced jeans. From Washuzan Hill, one can overlook the Seto-Ohashi Bridge and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. The townscape of Shimotsui, which prospered as a port for the Kitamaebune ships, and Mt. Yuka, known for its "dual visits" to Konpira Shrine, are also rich in seaside and historical attractions.
