On FM Kurashiki, every Saturday from 8 AM to 9 AM, we broadcast "Gather! Elementary School Students".

The personality, Asuka Abe, visits elementary schools in Kurashiki City to interview children who talk about the charm of their schools and school districts, as well as their big dreams. Through the genuine voices of the children, we can once again feel the charm of the region.

In the broadcast on May 30, 2026 (Saturday), we introduced the situation at "Ajino Elementary School" located in Kojima, Kurashiki City.

FM Kurashiki "Gather! Elementary School Students"

In "Gather! Elementary School Students," we conduct direct interviews with sixth graders at the visited elementary schools, deeply exploring the charm of the schools everyone attends. Additionally, the "School District Pride" segment introduces the good and favorite aspects of the region from the perspective of elementary school students.

They share their exciting future dreams and express gratitude to their families who are always with them... We will also present heartwarming interviews that will surely touch the hearts of adults.

This time, we visited Ajino Elementary School located in Kojima, Kurashiki City.

Ajino Elementary School is a vibrant school with 219 students enrolled.
Hinata Sasaki shared two unique initiatives of Ajino Elementary School.

The first introduction is the "Exciting Plaza" held on Saturdays.
This event, operated mainly by local people, offers numerous activities that engage both children and adults, such as tennis and soccer classes, and kendama certification. It is a warm event that allows people of all ages to deepen their interactions with the community.

The second is the annual disaster prevention event "Manabou Festival."
At the "Manabou Festival," which combines learning and disaster prevention, participants seriously learn about the horrors of disasters and actions to protect themselves alongside local residents. Not only the children of Ajino Elementary School but also students from the local Ajino Junior High School and Okayama Prefectural Kurashiki Washu Senior High School participate, making it an attractive event that involves a wide range of generations.

Ajino Elementary School is surrounded by local attractions such as Kojima Jeans Street and Mt. Ryuo, providing an environment where children can grow under the watchful eyes of the community. This was a school introduction that conveyed the warm charm of Ajino Elementary School.

Next, we will introduce the "pride of the school and school district" that the children are proud of.

Three children presented the charm of Ajino Elementary School and its school district in a ranking format.

3. Delicious school lunches that can be eaten fresh

Sena Asaga announced the third place as "The Deliciousness of School Lunch."

The school lunches at Ajino Elementary School are prepared on-site, allowing students to enjoy warm, freshly made lunches every day. During school lunch week, various food-related events are planned, and efforts are made to increase children's interest in food while having fun.

Sena's recommendation is "Kimchi Fried Rice." That sounds delicious! The tasty school lunches that nurture the children's bodies are a significant pride of Ajino Elementary School.

2. Greetings Practiced Together with the Principal

Kanato Goto mentioned the second place pride as "Energetic Greetings."

At Ajino Elementary School, a special greeting called "Gosen Gorei" is passed down. Every morning, the principal stands at the school gate and greets each child, gradually spreading a circle of cheerful voices throughout the school.

Being able to exchange energetic greetings in the morning allows everyone to start the day feeling good.

1. "Jeans School Day" Wearing Local Specialties

The proud first place is the "Jeans School Day" introduced by Taro Okano.

This event, unique to Ajino Elementary School, which is closest to Kojima Jeans Street, allows children to wear jeans, a local specialty of Kojima, to school. On that day, the organizing committee plans various events, and the entire school gets excited.

Additionally, there is a lovable original character called "Gajigaji-kun" within the school, which is beloved by the children.

This initiative, which loves local specialties and enjoys the charm of the region as part of school life, is the number one pride of Ajino Elementary School.

Ajino Elementary School is filled with unique charms such as warm school lunches, the unique "Gosen Gorei" greeting, and the Kojima-specific "Jeans School Day."

In an environment that is connected with the community, the children are growing brightly and energetically toward the future, carrying the pride of their hometown.

Voices of Children Looking Toward the Future

After learning about the school's charms, we also asked everyone about their future dreams.

The seven children who answered the interview included aspirations to become a dinosaur researcher, a pilot, a cabin attendant, and a programmer, making it exciting to imagine everyone's future selves.

The sight of children challenging themselves with "what they love" gives us adults great courage and inspiration.
