Enjoy a refreshing moment in autumn as you explore the streets of Kurashiki with a ticket in hand! Eat and drink! The fun event “Harenomino Kurashiki” is being held again this year.
This food event, where each participating venue serves a specially prepared food item and drink, is an annual food festival for restaurants around JR Kurashiki Station.
Whether you’re casually hopping between eateries, discovering new places, hitting it off with the people next to you, or rediscovering Kurashiki as you stroll around town, “Harenomino Kurashiki” is full of attractions. What will this year’s event have in store?
Here’s an introduction to the 11th Harenomino Kurashiki 2026.
The information presented was current when this article was published in November 2026. Please note that it may differ from current information.
What is Harenomino Kurashiki?

Harenomino Kurashiki began in 2012, when volunteers—including restaurant owners and staff, as well as liquor store staff—came together wondering, “Is there something fun we could do to help people learn about Kurashiki’s restaurants?”
Participating venues range from cafe-bars and yakiniku restaurants to traditional Japanese restaurants, ramen shops, and kushikatsu restaurants. It’s a food-hopping event where you can enjoy a dish and a drink specially prepared by each venue.
About Harenomino Kurashiki 2026
Harenomino Kurashiki began in 2012 and was temporarily suspended as a measure against the spread of COVID-19. It returned in 2025, and this year (2026) marks its 11th edition.
Centered around the area south of JR Kurashiki Station, 60 restaurants—including 13 new participants—will be taking part, with venues extending as far as the Bikan Historical Area.

Carry your ticket and drink your way around

Each venue prepares great-value food, including special dishes made just for the day and the restaurant’s signature menu items. As a result, some places quickly develop long lines.
Some venues open as early as 10 a.m., but opening times vary. We recommend checking in advance and planning which places to visit first.
Information about venue locations, opening times, and the dishes served at the event is available on the official Instagram account and website. We also recommend hopping between venues with a guide map in hand, so you can check their locations and event hours as you go.
What if you have tickets left over?
Even if you have tickets left over, you can still use them.
For the seven days following the event, from Monday, November 16 through Sunday, November 22, tickets can be used as ¥1,000 vouchers at participating “Ato Nomino” venues.
There’s also a giveaway
This time, people who attend both “Harenomino Okayama Shirouchi,” held in Okayama City on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, and “Harenomino Kurashiki” can enter a prize drawing.
Please keep your ticket stubs safe.
More details will be announced later on the official website.
Interview with the chair of the Harenomino Kurashiki organizing committee
We spoke with Matsushita Tomohiro, chair of the Harenomino Kurashiki Organizing Committee.

An event to energize Kurashiki’s restaurants
What inspired you to start Harenomino Kurashiki?
Matsushita (surname only)
Before we started this event, there wasn’t anything that brought everyone together and got them excited.
So it began with the idea of helping people learn about Kurashiki’s restaurants, and also seeing if we could do something like an exciting town revitalization project through the restaurants.
At first, we reached out to places we knew well and started with around 50 venues.
What has made the strongest impression on you over the years?
Matsushita
Every time, it makes me happy to see so many people walking around town with the Harenomino guide map, or strangers talking to each other about how much they liked a particular place.
It makes me realize, “Oh, our effort to revitalize the town through its restaurants is working,” and I’m glad we did it.
I think that’s probably why we can’t stop, and end up saying, “Shall we do it again?” It’s certainly not an event that makes a profit, but it’s fun.
What’s been difficult?
Matsushita
It’s definitely hard to get venues to participate.
We have more repeat visitors now, and people are happy when new venues join, so that part takes a bit of effort.

What has been good about holding this event?
Matsushita
The best thing is seeing our customers enjoy themselves. It’s also a chance for the restaurants to welcome customers who haven’t visited before.
Some people go to places that aren’t participating in Harenomino after using up their tickets. I feel that the event creates a ripple effect for non-participating venues too, rather than just bringing excitement to our own event. I think that kind of town revitalization is great.
We suspended the event during the COVID-19 pandemic and resumed it last year (2025). It really made me realize how important it is for everyone to enjoy a drink together.
The people who come get to discover the joy of dining out, and conversations with our regulars become even livelier.
A message to readers
Finally, do you have a message for our readers?
Matsushita
I’d be happy if this gave people a chance to visit places they haven’t been to before and learn about the many different restaurants.
It feels great to raise a glass with friends, family, or even someone who happens to be sitting next to you. Buy a ticket and experience something wonderful you haven’t encountered before on the day.
Please join us for this annual festival of Kurashiki’s restaurants.
