As a tourist spot located along the coast of Kasaoka City in southern Okayama, the Kasaoka Islands, which consist of seven inhabited islands, are gaining attention.

The only means of transportation to the Kasaoka Islands is by ferry.
Therefore, the first step to the Kasaoka Islands begins with enjoying a short sea journey on a passenger ship or ferry.

Upon arriving at the Kasaoka Islands, a nostalgic landscape unfolds before you.
And you can feel the leisurely flow of time.

The charm of the Kasaoka Islands becomes clear when you actually visit.

With the desire to convey this charm not only to people outside Kasaoka City but also to Kasaoka citizens, the Kasaoka Brand Council has taken the lead to hold the Stone Islands of Setouchi Project "Shimawokanaderu" KASAOKA ART&MUSIC FESTIVAL 2021 (hereafter: Shimawokanaderu) from February 11 to 14, 2021.

Ahead of the main event in February, a pre-event featuring participating artists began on November 14, 2020 (Saturday).

On November 16 (Monday), a press conference detailing Shimawokanaderu was held at the Kasaoka Port Passenger Terminal "Minato Kobanshi" multipurpose space.

We will convey the details of the press conference for the art festival Shimawokanaderu, set against the backdrop of the Kasaoka Islands, and the pre-event featuring Keizo Nakanishi held on November 21 (Saturday)!

The images from the press conference and pre-event have been authorized for use by the organizer, the Kasaoka Brand Council.

Shimawo Kanaderu Poster
At the press conference for Shimawo Kanaderu and during the pre-event on November 21, it was repeatedly mentioned that 2021 is the 0th edition of Shimawo Kanaderu.

The Stone Islands Kasaoka Project "Shimawo Kanaderu" KASAOKA ART&MUSIC FESTIVAL 2021 will be the 0th edition, conducted with secured funding.

In 2022, with the cooperation of Kasaoka citizens, the goal of the Shimawo Kanaderu Executive Committee is to realize the first edition through self-hosting, and to nurture it into a festival that continues with the second and third editions.

Another point that was mentioned is that everyone involved is a communicator.

Not only the participating artists and the Shimawo Kanaderu Executive Committee members, but also the people who gathered at the pre-event, those who participated, and the shops that put up posters are all encouraged to share information about Shimawo Kanaderu and the good aspects of Kasaoka.

By having many involved people share information, the sense of unity among Kasaoka citizens will be enhanced.
This will become the energy that leads to the success of Shimawo Kanaderu in 2021.

By sharing information, Kasaoka citizens aim to convey the beauty of Kasaoka to people outside the city, and also for Kasaoka citizens to recognize the good aspects of Kasaoka, increasing the number of people who love Kasaoka. This sentiment was strongly conveyed during the press conference and pre-event by the Shimawo Kanaderu Executive Committee.

We are looking forward to the main event The Island Resonance Tour starting from February 11, 2021!
