Additionally, the "School District Pride" segment introduces the good and favorite aspects of the community from the perspective of elementary school students.

We will also present heartwarming interviews that make even adults' hearts swell, as children talk about their exciting future dreams and express gratitude to their families who are always with them.

This time, we visited Daigo Fukuda Elementary School located in Mizushima, Kurashiki City.

The first to introduce the school is Janah Makalarado. She shared about the mascot characters and the student council flag, which are the charms of Daigo Fukuda Elementary School.

Daigo Fukuda Elementary School has two beloved mascot characters. "Daigo-kun," who works hard every day with a strong body, and "Yutaka-chan," who values a kind and compassionate heart. First, Rikuto Teramoto presented the "Saturday Night Market" held in the local shopping district of Mizushima.

At the Saturday Night Market, delicious gourmet foods such as takoyaki, fried chicken, and cold shaved ice are available, along with stalls offering games like shooting and goldfish scooping, as well as yo-yo fishing, providing fun for both adults and children.

Teramoto said, "Everyone at the shops is kind, and the charm is that you can play safely and enjoyably." By the way, Teramoto always buys his favorite baby castella when he goes to the Saturday Night Market.

It's a lively festival loved by the community that makes you look forward to the arrival of summer.

2. Scenic Spot "Kamejima Mountain" Enjoying Rich Nature and Beautiful Night Views

Next, Yume Kishida shared about the school's pride, "Kamejima Mountain," surrounded by rich nature.

As the name suggests, it is a uniquely shaped mountain resembling a turtle, and within the grounds, there are shrines that evoke a sense of history and air raid shelters. Furthermore, from the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a beautiful night view of the Mizushima Industrial Complex, which is a major attraction.

During the day, you can enjoy walks and nature exploration, and at night, you can indulge in the sparkling night view, making it a cherished healing spot.

3. Local Specialty "Tsurajima Lotus Root" Appearing in School Lunches

Kisato Hakata proudly introduced the local specialty "Tsurajima Lotus Root."

Rich in nutrients and good for the body, Tsurajima lotus root also appears in school lunches. It is a proud local specialty that allows students to experience local production for local consumption. In school lunches, it is served in dishes like "lotus root with plum paste," allowing students to enjoy delicious lotus root dishes.

Furthermore, Hakata explained that locally produced crops with short transportation distances contribute to preventing global warming.
