We are pleased to announce the Forest Music Festival, which will be held on the Spring Equinox to celebrate the arrival of spring.

What is the Forest Music Festival "Hiruyonoawai"?

The Forest Music Festival "Hiruyonoawai" is an outdoor music festival that will be held on March 20, 2026 (Friday, public holiday) at the Forest Stage of Ojigadake Hill.

The performers are four artists who are drawn to the charm of Ojigadake Hill, where one can fully feel the changes of the sea, sky, wind, and light, and where just gazing at the scenery can soothe the heart.

At the venue, you can enjoy gentle and warm music that blends with the natural scenery and atmosphere, mainly acoustic.

Interview with the performers

In preparation for the Forest Music Festival "Hiruyonoawai," we spoke with performer Kondo Yuima.

Can you tell us how the Forest Music Festival "Hiruyonoawai" came to be?

Kondo (no honorifics)

Ojigadake Hill has a sense of openness where one can fully feel the changes of the sea, sky, wind, and light, and there is a charm that can soothe the heart just by gazing at the scenery.
It was this thought that led me to believe that by holding a music festival in such a place, a slightly special time could be created while still being an extension of everyday life.

Rather than "showing" something as a large event, I want to create a time where people can gently connect in nature and regain their own breath.

It was from this feeling that we decided to hold this event.

Is there a reason you chose the Forest Stage of Ojigadake Hill as the venue?

Kondo

Ojigadake Hill is a special place where you can feel both the beauty of the Seto Inland Sea and the comfort of being surrounded by nature.
This place, which is both a mountain and overlooks the sea, has a richness as a music listening venue, where expansiveness and tranquility coexist.

Unlike halls or live houses, the sounds of the wind, the voices of birds, and even the changes in light become part of the day's performance, which is unique to this place.

I want to share the time of the music festival that can only be born from Ojigadake Hill with those who come.

How would you like the attendees to spend their time at the venue?

Kondo

I would like them to spend their time not trying hard to receive something, but rather to relax and savor the atmosphere of the place.
There can be time to listen to music carefully, gaze at the scenery, feel the wind, exchange words with loved ones, or simply daydream.

It is an open time where each attendee can find their own comfortable way to spend it.

I believe that the time spent listening to music in nature will relax your mind and body more than you might expect.

I would be happy if we could spend a moment together where we can slightly distance ourselves from everyday life and regain our own breath amidst the scenery and wind of Ojigadake Hill.

Conclusion

I moved to Kurashiki in December 2023 from the Kanto region, and one of the reasons for my move was the calm scenery of the Seto Inland Sea viewed from Ojigadake Hill.
I thought that once I could easily come to this place, my life would surely become richer... and as various connections came together, I am now in my third year of living in Kurashiki.

Ojigadake Hill always gives me the image of a place where I quietly converse with nature, but there are performers who, like me, moved to Kurashiki seeking this scenery from the Kanto region, and I am excited that this music festival will teach us new charms of Ojigadake Hill.
