The weather forecast predicted rainy weather for the three-day weekend (July 13–15), but fortunately, the weather held up, so I went to the "Adult Night Market" held at Kurashiki Mirai Park.
As the name suggests, it is primarily an event where you can enjoy alcohol and accompanying snacks. Local popular shops, craft beers, and a variety of genres of stores are participating.
There are also stalls selling shaved ice and soft serve ice cream, so even those who cannot drink alcohol will be fine.

About the "Adult Night Market"
The "Adult Night Market" was held on July 13, 2024 (Saturday) from 4 PM to 9 PM at the outdoor event square of Ario Kurashiki and Kurashiki Mirai Park. It has been held in July and October for the past few years.
This time, about 50 restaurants mainly from Okayama Prefecture gathered.
It is an adult-oriented event where you can enjoy a variety of genres of carefully crafted menus along with alcohol, and there are many types of desserts available after meals.
I visited the event
I arrived at the venue around 5 PM.
Since it was a three-day weekend and some shops opened from 3 PM, the park was already bustling with many people.
There were lines at popular shops, but customers were nicely dispersed. It seemed that at each shop, you could buy products without waiting too long.
Now, let me introduce some shops that caught my attention.
Kurashiki Cheese Workshop Haruparu
The Kurashiki Cheese Workshop Haruparu is a cheese workshop directly managed by Miyake Farm located in Tamashima.
I had purchased from them before and found it very delicious, so I decided to stop by again this time.
The deliciousness of the cheese made by the owner, who trained in cheese making in Obihiro, Hokkaido, is appealing, but this time I ordered the freshly squeezed milk soft serve along with the cheese.
The soft serve ice cream made from freshly squeezed raw milk is rich yet refreshing, providing a sense of coolness in the humid heat.
A cheese platter that pairs well with alcohol. I was tempted to drink the craft beer being sold nearby, but... I enjoyed it deliciously even without alcohol.
Dan Y Dwa
The Dan Y Dwa is a popular dining bar near JR Kurashiki Station.
I have visited several times, and it is a place where you can enjoy delicious cocktails and dishes.
I was drawn to the sight of prosciutto being sliced at the shopfront, so I decided to stop by.
The Spanish prosciutto known as "Jamon Serrano (700 yen)" is considered one of the world's three great prosciuttos.
It paired excellently with olive oil.
Additionally, many people were ordering mojitos made with plenty of fresh mint, and a refreshing drink in the hot season looked very appealing (it is a popular cocktail at the actual store as well).
Chisoya Nanohana
"Chisoya Nanohana" is an izakaya located in a storehouse built during the Edo period near the Bikan Historical Area in Kurashiki, where you can enjoy delicious local dishes.
I also like this shop, where you can enjoy seasonal delicious dishes in a charming space. When I heard they would be participating this time, I was surprised to see an Orion Beer lantern (from Okinawa).
Orion draft beer (600 yen) was also available, but the Chiyagyu beef stew (1,000 yen) looked delicious, so I decided to take it home.
The flavor of the slowly simmered beef tendon was very rich, and the taste had soaked into the konjac all the way through, making it irresistibly delicious when eaten with rice.
Conclusion
The "Adult Night Market," held with many unique shops from Kurashiki and beyond, was a great event.
I couldn't drink alcohol this time, but there were many craft beer vendors, so I hope to enjoy delicious food while tasting alcohol at the next event.
Of course, there were also many shops that could be enjoyed even without alcohol, and although it is called a night market, it starts during bright hours, making it easy to stop by while shopping, which I thought was great.
