“Satosho Curry Something Stamp Rally” is an event where participants visit restaurants and shops in Satosho Town that offer "curry" menu items to collect stamps.

This year's (2026) theme is “Taste Comparison Between the West and the East!”.
In addition to curry rice, there is a rich variety of curry menu items such as curry bread, curry croquettes, curry pizza, and curry udon.

In this article, we will introduce how to participate in the event, how to enjoy it, and share insights from Kanai-san of the Satosho Town Planning and Commerce Division, who is in charge of the project.

What is the Satosho Curry Something Stamp Rally: Taste Comparison Between the West and the East!

The “Satosho Curry Something Stamp Rally” is an initiative started by the Satosho Town Planning and Commerce Division in the fiscal year 2024. This year (2026) marks the third year, with 13 participating stores divided into the western and eastern areas of Satosho Town.

How to Participate in the Stamp Rally

When you make a purchase of 500 yen or more that includes a curry menu item at a participating store, you will receive a stamp on your application form. Once you have collected the stamps, submit your application form into the application box located at each store or at the Satosho Town Hall Planning and Commerce Division to complete your application.

The number of stamps collected determines the prizes you can apply for.

• 2 stamps total (1 stamp from the western area and 1 stamp from the eastern area)
  Eligible for the “Sweet Prize”
• Collect 1 more stamp for a total of 3 stamps
  Eligible for the “Spicy Prize”

By visiting multiple stores, you can apply for wonderful prizes. Each person can submit as many applications as they like.

The prizes for the stamp rally consist of delicious items from the participating stores.

I Participated in the Stamp Rally

I actually visited the participating stores in Satosho Town.
First, I was torn as all 13 participating stores looked delicious.

The first stop was “Morihara Store” in the eastern area.
I went around lunchtime, but the “curry rice” was sold out. Morihara Store is a local supermarket that had many customers. If you want to eat there, I recommend going early.

Next, I headed to the western area store “Cafe @ Sanlavian”.
I ordered the “Butter Chicken Curry and Cheese” and enjoyed it right away in the eat-in area. The combination of the baguette, butter chicken curry, and cheese was excellent and delicious. It seems you can also take it out and heat it in a toaster for a tasty meal.

Continuing in the eastern area, I visited “Okayama Hand-Stretched Somen Direct Sales Office”.
I bought “Curry for Hand-Stretched Udon” and “Hand-Stretched Thin Udon Style Suzuon” to take home and enjoyed them. The flavorful dashi curry paired well with the smooth and chewy thin udon, making it delicious.

Then, I enjoyed the dry curry Macaret pizza at “Macaret” in the western area. The homemade dry curry and three types of cheese on the crispy crust were aromatic, flavorful, and had a great texture. I was satisfied.

Next, I visited “SOL BAKERY” in the eastern area. Customers were coming in continuously. I enjoyed the half-boiled egg spicy curry bread, where the spiciness was followed by the creamy texture of the egg, creating a mellow flavor.

After getting full, I went for a walk at Tsubaki no Oka Sports Park.
The time was 3 PM. Music from singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze, who is from Satosho Town, was playing in the park. I walked while listening to the music and climbed to a high point to enjoy the view.

I spoke with Kanai Keiichi, who is in charge of the “Satosho Curry Something Stamp Rally” at the Satosho Town Planning and Commerce Division.

“Satosho Curry Something” is an interesting name.

Kanai (no honorifics)

Curry rice, curry bread, curry croquettes, curry oyakodon... The name was decided as “Curry Something,” meaning “Curry Something.”

Using curry in various genres of cuisine such as restaurants, cafes, bakeries, Japanese, and Chinese expands the menu options. Therefore, I believe it is easy for any type of store to participate.

How did the “Satosho Curry Something” start?

Satosho has few tourist attractions, so the challenge was how to create opportunities for people to come to the town.
Restaurants are easier to attract visitors, and upon investigation, I found that there are surprisingly many stores in the town that handle curry.
Curry is loved by many people regardless of age, and it is an easy ingredient for stores to incorporate, making it easier to develop menus. For these reasons, we chose curry as the theme.

The stamp rally is limited to a specific period, but “Satosho Curry Something” is held year-round, so I hope people will enjoy the curry of Satosho Town.

I hope people will explore the entire town of Satosho. By visiting both the west and the east, I hope it leads to discovering stores they wouldn't normally visit.

All 13 stores are truly delicious. Each store has its own personality, making it enjoyable.

For example, “SOL BAKERY” is entered in the Curry Bread Grand Prix 2026 (results will be announced on July 20, 2026), and their “Half-Boiled Egg Spicy Curry Bread” won the Grand Prize in the Western Japan Baked Curry Bread category at the Curry Bread Grand Prix 2023.

I think it would be nice to buy curry bread and eat it at the nearby Tsubaki no Oka Sports Park. The park has recently renovated its playground equipment, and the scenery is beautiful, making it a pleasant place.

“masterwal COFFEE” is a cafe located within an interior shop, and it is attractive because you can enjoy curry in a space surrounded by carefully selected furniture.

The curry pilaf gratin from “Bizenya Kaikan” and the curry oyakodon from “Toriya Kaede” are also delicious. While it may seem that Japanese cuisine and curry are distant, they have great flavors and could lead to unexpected encounters with curry dishes.
