LUCIAS - Eat, choose, listen, meet. A healing café to enjoy with all five senses.

LUCIASメニュー

In modern life, where we are busy with work and household chores, it is easy to forget to create some space in our hearts.

A place where you can step away from such daily routines and spend time relaxing your mind and body is LUCIAS, located in Shirakumacho, Kurashiki City.

Not only can you enjoy delicious food and drinks, but the characteristic of LUCIAS is that you can feel healing through your five senses while being enveloped in pleasant music and a calm space.

I was drawn to the calm atmosphere of the interior photos I saw online and visited with my family.

I will introduce the charm and commitment of LUCIAS, which is based on the concept of "a healing space that satisfies the five senses," as well as the thoughts embedded in the shop.

What is LUCIAS

"LUCIAS" is a café that opened in February 2023.
The exterior blends into the town's scenery and has a calm atmosphere, but when you peek inside through the windows, a stylish and warm space unfolds. Here, you can not only enjoy the food but also spend a peaceful time through the space, music, and encounters with people.

There are four ways to enjoy LUCIAS.

Ways to Enjoy LUCIAS

  • Choosing
  • Listening
  • Meeting

Eating - Relaxing with homemade dishes

The dishes at LUCIAS are handmade in-house, from selecting ingredients to preparation and plating. For example, the shrimp tempura is not made using frozen products; the staff carefully prepares each shrimp one by one. Hearing this made me amazed at the depth of their commitment to handmade food.

When you open the menu, a variety of options from breakfast to lunch and desserts are lined up, making it truly difficult to decide which to choose.

During the interview, I ordered LUCIAS's brunch (with drink, tax included 1,500 yen).

LUCIAS's brunch can be ordered from 10 AM to 3 PM.

When it was served, I couldn't help but exclaim at how vibrant the dish looked.

It was plated with salad, meat dishes, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and even waffles and fruits, offering more volume than I had imagined.

The first thing that catches your eye is the large sausage and bacon. The sausage has a crispy skin, and the juices flow out, while the savory aroma and saltiness of the bacon make you want to keep eating.

Next to it is the crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside hash brown. When you eat it with ketchup or mayonnaise, it becomes irresistibly delicious.

Additionally, the waffle served alongside is perfectly toasted on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The gentle sweetness of the chocolate sauce is just right.

You can enjoy alternating between the sweet waffle and the savory dishes, and before you know it, I was bringing dish after dish to my mouth with a fork in hand.

Although it takes time and effort to prepare the dishes, I feel that such dedication supports the restaurant's flavor.

After the meal, I also enjoyed a lemon tart and a baked cheesecake.

The combination of smooth cream and crispy tart crust is excellent, and it is light enough to enjoy even after a meal. Eating it with the whipped cream on top slightly softens the acidity, allowing you to savor it deliciously until the end.

This is a moist and smooth baked cheesecake. The sweet and sour berry sauce pairs well, and with each bite, the richness of the cheese spreads throughout your mouth.

Choosing - A space filled with attention to detail that pleases the eyes

After enjoying the meal, what catches your eye when you look around the store is the apparel corner.

The interior is a bright space filled with natural light from large windows, where clothes, bags, and accessories are tastefully arranged. If you find an item you like, there is a fitting room available on-site, allowing you to leisurely search for your favorites during your relaxed time after the meal.

The unique charm of LUCIAS is that it feels like there is a select shop within a café, offering a slightly different kind of enjoyment.

Listening - A space where pleasant music flows

Interior of CAFE LUCIAS

The charm of LUCIAS is not only in the food and space.
As soon as you step inside, pleasant music flows, naturally calming your mind.

There is a grand piano in the store, and I heard that the manager sometimes performs. During Christmas and events, they also have duo performances, and on anniversaries, they respond to requests from customers to play.

While savoring delicious food, listening to pleasant music. Such casual moments help you forget about the busy daily life for a while.

Meeting - A place to feel connections with others

LUCIAS has counter seats and table seats, making it easy to use whether alone, with family, or with friends.

The spacious seating arrangement allows you to spend your time without worrying too much about those around you, which was impressive.
