What is Atelier Daisy
Atelier Daisy is a studio that combines English and art for parents and children, which opened in December 2023 in Chayamachi, Kurashiki City.
Children can decide for themselves what materials they want to use and what works they want to create, allowing them to create freely.
During activities, Hiroko Fukushima, who operates Atelier Daisy, communicates in English, enabling children to naturally become familiar with the language.
It is a studio where children can enjoy self-expression in a relaxed atmosphere with a small number of participants.
The exciting space of Atelier Daisy
When you open the door to Atelier Daisy, you are greeted by the bright smile of Hiroko Fukushima.
On the walls, large sheets of paper are posted, creating an atmosphere that naturally sparks excitement about what to draw.
Crayons and paints are easily accessible, and past works are displayed, stimulating the children's curiosity.
Additionally, shelves are lined with English picture books.
It is an environment where children can freely access picture books that they might not usually have the opportunity to touch.
About the operator, Hiroko Fukushima
Hiroko Fukushima, who operates Atelier Daisy, was originally a teacher of English at a junior high school.
After retiring, she became fascinated by children's free expression through her own parenting experiences and deepened her interest in art. Subsequently, she continued her studies related to parenting and art, and now works as a Kids Art Creator®️ at Atelier Daisy.

She is a certified instructor of the general incorporated association Atelier happiness bird, which runs happiness kids art KOBE, nurturing children who realize their dreams (trademark registration No. 6299755).
While teaching English to junior high school students, Fukushima noticed that children lacked confidence in their expression.
She believes that by incorporating natural English communication during art time, children's expressive language skills can also be nurtured.
Her desire to create an environment where sensitivity and language expression can grow together has led to the formation of Atelier Daisy, which combines art and English.

Free Time
Children can freely choose their favorite materials, such as crayons and clay, according to their mood that day and enjoy creating at their own pace.
Natural English communication occurs in a relaxed atmosphere, allowing children to also engage with the language.
Event Days
Special production events are held according to seasonal events and themes, such as Halloween and Christmas. There is joy in collaboratively creating dynamic and large artworks.
Grow with English
Starting from September 2025, a new "Tot Time English" class for ages 1 to 3 has been added to the previously offered English lessons for ages 0 to 2.
These two lessons are collectively referred to as "Grow with English."
There are two types: "Baby Steps English" for ages 0 to 2 and "Tot Time English" for ages 1 to 3, both of which allow parents and children to enjoy engaging with English songs and picture books together.
In particular, "Tot Time English" includes simple art experiences and creation time.

Open days when anyone can freely use the atelier.
