On FM Kurashiki, every Saturday from 8 AM to 9 AM, we broadcast "Gather Around! Elementary School Students".

The personality, Asuka Abe, visits elementary schools in Kurashiki City to interview children who talk about the charm of their schools and school districts, as well as their big dreams. Through the genuine voices of the children, we can once again feel the charm of the community.

In the broadcast on December 20, 2025 (Saturday), we introduced the situation at "Nakashima Elementary School" located in Nakajima, Kurashiki City.

We will deliver the lively voices of the children.

FM Kurashiki "Gather Around! Elementary School Students"

In "Gather Around! Elementary School Students," we conduct direct interviews with sixth graders at the visited elementary schools, deeply exploring the charm of the schools everyone attends. Additionally, the segment "Pride in Our School District," where children share the good things and their favorite aspects of the community from their perspective, is also a highlight.

We will also present heartwarming interviews that make even adults' hearts swell, as children talk about their exciting future dreams and express gratitude to their families who are always with them.

This time, we visited Nakashima Elementary School in Nakajima, Kurashiki City. It is a large school with over 1,000 students, but the close relationships across grades are its charm.

The Charm of Nakashima Elementary School was shared by the children right away.

About Nakashima Elementary School

The school introduction was given by Sena Nishiyama. Despite being nervous, she spoke clearly without looking at any script.

At Nakashima Elementary School, they have set the three pillars of "Greeting, Cleaning, and Walking in the Hallways" as their goals, and all the students are working hard on them. They actively promote greetings through committee activities and focus on cleaning time, showing their commitment.

Currently, they are particularly focusing on walking in the hallways. Nishiyama said, "The upper grades are working hard to set an example for the lower grades."

Furthermore, warm interactions across grades are also a major charm. Activities like "Friendly Play," where all students participate together, and "Walking Groups" composed of different grades contribute to the friendly relationships that transcend grade levels.

Although Nakashima Elementary School is large, it is clear that rich human relationships are being nurtured.

Students of Nakashima Elementary School Talk About "Pride in Their School & School District"

Next, we will introduce the "pride in their school and school district" that the children are proud of.

Three children shared the charms of Nakashima Elementary School and its district.

1. Nakashima Elementary School is Not Just "Full of Energy!"

The first to present was Taiga Kobashi.

Kobashi highlighted the "liveliness" and "moderate behavior" of all the students as points of pride. Nakashima Elementary School is very vibrant across all grades, but it is not just about being energetic. They think carefully about "what is good and what is bad" and are able to act while following the rules.

From first to sixth grade, they enjoy school life with a sense of balance.

2. Meeting Various Friends Among 1,000 Students

The second to present was Mana Hisashige. Hisashige spoke about the unique charm of Nakashima Elementary School, which has over 1,000 students.

With a large number of students, there are many encounters. There are 4 to 6 classes per grade, allowing students to meet friends who share the same "interests" as well as those who have different "skills."

Hisashige mentioned that she enjoys spending time surrounded by various friends. She felt that many encounters enrich the children's futures.

3. A Convenient Town with Many Shops

The last to present was Sota Hayakawa, who highlighted the high convenience of the school district.

The district of Nakashima Elementary School is equipped with 24-hour convenience stores, various supermarkets, and pharmacies, making it a convenient area where you can quickly go shopping even in times of need.

Additionally, there are delicious restaurants, including chain stores like Starbucks and local specialties like bukkake udon. Hayakawa mentioned, "You can do almost anything, anytime, anywhere."

With everything needed for daily life readily available and many enjoyable shops lined up, the district is a very livable and proud area for the children.

Nakashima Elementary School is enjoying vibrant daily life while cherishing the "three pillars" with over 1,000 friends. We sincerely support the children as they continue to shine in their own unique ways with many encounters ahead.

Voices of Children Looking Toward the Future

After learning about the school's charm, we also asked everyone about their future dreams.

Fifteen children participated in the interview this time.
Imagining everyone's future selves as sports players, ramen shop owners, pharmacists, veterinarians, airplane designers, and more is exciting.

The sight of children challenging themselves with their "favorite things" gives us adults great courage and inspiration.
