The personality, Asuka Abe, visits elementary schools in Kurashiki City to interview children who talk about the charm of their schools and school districts, as well as their big dreams. Through the genuine voices of the children, we can once again feel the charm of the community.
In the broadcast on December 6, 2025 (Saturday), we introduced the situation at "Kashiwajima Elementary School" located in Tamashima, Kurashiki City.

FM Kurashiki "Gather Around! Elementary School Students"
In "Gather Around! Elementary School Students," we directly interview sixth graders at the visited elementary schools to deeply explore the charm of the schools they attend. Additionally, we highlight the "School District Pride," where children share the good and favorite aspects of their community from their perspective.
They talk about their exciting future dreams and express gratitude to their families who are always with them... We will also present heartwarming interviews that will surely touch the hearts of adults.
This time, we visited Kashiwajima Elementary School in Tamashima, Kurashiki City. The number of students is 228. It is a bright and lively school where cheerful greetings resonate every day.
The charm of Kashiwajima Elementary School was immediately shared by the children.
About Kashiwajima Elementary School
The first to introduce the school was Anri Inukai. She spoke clearly about the charm of Kashiwajima Elementary School and its symbols.
The first point she mentioned was the lively greetings.
Students who come to school voluntarily participate in a greeting campaign as volunteers. They aim for the high goal of "Becoming the number one in Kurashiki for greetings" and resonate bright voices every day.
Next, she introduced the Metasequoia that towers beside the school building.
This tree has a sign that says "Children who grow straight," and Anri expressed, "I want to be a straightforward and positive person like the Metasequoia." The large Metasequoia is an important symbol of Kashiwajima Elementary School, watching over the children.
Finally, she introduced the motto that all students cherish: "Actively be friendly until the end". The top-grade student, Anri, said, "I want to be someone who actively engages in everything, gets along with everyone, and never gives up until the end."
With rich nature, a warm motto, and lively greetings aiming for number one in Kurashiki, Kashiwajima Elementary School is a wonderful place of learning where children can grow straight and healthily like the Metasequoia.
Children of Kashiwajima Elementary School Talk About "School & School District Pride"
Next, we will introduce the "School and School District Pride" that the children are proud of.
Three children shared the charm of Kashiwajima Elementary School and its district in a ranking format.
1. A Supermarket "Nishina" with a Great Candy Section
Mana Ishibashi proudly introduced the supermarket Nishina located in the school district.
Nishina was renovated in 2025, and she mentioned that it has become even cleaner and more convenient. It offers not only food but also clothing and a 100-yen shop, making it an essential place for local residents.
Among them, the candy section with a wide variety was introduced as her top pride. It is filled with items that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to the elderly, including gummies, potato snacks, and even snacks.
Nishina, which supports daily life, is also a familiar presence for children.
2. "Hakobe Park" Where Everyone's Smiles Gather
Riria Morishita introduced Hakobe Park.
Recently, many parks have become overgrown with grass due to a lack of visitors, but Hakobe Park is always bustling with many people, from small children to adults.
At Hakobe Park, children from Kashiwajima Elementary School play energetically, playing tag and practicing on the horizontal bar. Riria happily said, "I love Hakobe Park."
As a relaxation spot for children, it is one of the places that we hope will be loved for a long time to come.
3. "Ensu-ji Temple" Where You Can Meet Mysterious Jizo Statues
Kanta Nakano introduced the historic Ensu-ji Temple, established in 1698. He mentioned that it is proud of its rich nature and the beautiful view from the top.
Particularly, Kanta's favorite is the two Jizo statues in front of the gate.
One has an angry expression, while the other is smiling, making their contrasting and interesting expressions appealing. There are various Jizo statues with different expressions in the temple grounds, so he recommended, "Please go and see them."
It was a temple where one can not only feel history but also discover interesting things from a child's perspective.
With lively greetings echoing and the Metasequoia gently watching over, Kashiwajima Elementary School is surrounded by treasures of the community, such as Nishina, Hakobe Park, and Ensu-ji Temple. With the motto "Actively be friendly until the end" in their hearts, we hope the children will continue to grow freely in Kashiwajima.

Voices of Children Looking Toward the Future
After learning about the charm of the school, we also asked everyone about their future dreams.
This time, 21 children answered the interview.
They mentioned dreams of becoming athletes, Japan Air Self-Defense Force pilots, jockeys, company employees, and some even expressed wanting to be "someone who can talk cheerfully with anyone" or "someone who can make everyone smile." Imagining everyone's future selves is exciting.
The sight of children challenging themselves with "what they love" as their driving force gave us adults great courage and inspiration.
