Kurashiki City will host the disaster prevention awareness event "Kurashiki Disaster Prevention Fair" again in 2025. This year, the venue will be moved to Kojima Boat Race Parking Lot, featuring a variety of hands-on programs that anyone can easily and enjoyably participate in.
The subtitle for this event is “~Hints to Help Yourself (You) Are Here~”.
The organizers have a strong desire to provide hints not only useful in emergencies but also for those who currently do not know what to do.
We introduce the "Kurashiki Disaster Prevention Fair," where you can think about disaster prevention while having fun and update your preparedness.
What is the "Kurashiki Disaster Prevention Fair"
The "Kurashiki Disaster Prevention Fair" is a disaster prevention awareness event organized by Kurashiki City.
It will be held on November 23, 2025 (Sunday) from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Kojima Boat Race parking lot.
The Kojima Boat Race parking lot will be divided into three areas: "Naruhodo! Experience Area," "Wakuwaku! Experience Area," and "Gathering! Working Vehicles Area," focusing on hands-on booths and various events as follows.

Additionally, free shuttle buses will also be in operation. Due to limited parking spaces around the event venue, we recommend using public transportation.

- From the Kojima School Lunch Joint Cooking Facility (temporary parking lot) to Kojima Boat Race
※ Both routes will operate approximately every 20 minutes between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM
Booth Exhibitions
At the booth exhibitions, about 60 sponsoring companies and organizations will present engaging and educational displays. All exhibitions will focus on the main theme of "experience," and various disaster prevention workshops will be available.
Additionally, collecting stamps by visiting the three areas will allow you to participate in a lottery.
Event Programs
The event program includes stage events such as performances by a music band and puppet shows, as well as a lecture by meteorologist Nakashima Nozomi, rescue training by the fire and police mobile units, a water display by the Mizushima Coast Guard patrol boat "Ryuou," and a pig soup distribution by the Self-Defense Forces.
Support for Installing the Kurashiki Emergency Notification App and Gifts!
Additionally, at the booth of the Kurashiki City Disaster Management Office, support will be provided for installing the “Kurashiki Emergency Notification App”, which started operation on October 1, 2025.
Those who show the screen of the installed app will receive a gift of "Marukome Bulk Freeze-Dried Granules, Assorted 10 Meals," recommended for rolling stock, to the first 1,000 people.
Rolling Stock
It is a method of maintaining a constant amount of food stock at home by buying a little more than usual, consuming the older items considering their expiration dates, and replenishing what has been consumed.

This is the fourth time the event is being held. Please tell us the reason for holding the "Kurashiki Disaster Prevention Fair" this year.

The disaster prevention fair started because the city had challenges in promoting disaster awareness, especially among younger generations.
Previous community training often centered around members of self-defense organizations and elderly residents, which meant that awareness and education for families with small children and child-rearing generations were not sufficient.
Therefore, we wanted to create an event format called a "fair" instead of the rigid image of training, allowing people to think about disaster prevention in a fun way and broaden the base of disaster awareness. We aim to create an event where even small children can learn while having fun through stage events and hands-on booths.

The "Kurashiki Disaster Prevention Fair" aims to promote disaster awareness throughout Kurashiki City by changing the venue each year.
We hope that those who have found it difficult to participate from afar will come this time.
Since the venue is the Kojima Boat Race parking lot, are there any special contents planned?

Taking advantage of Kojima's proximity to the sea, we plan to have the patrol boat "Ryuou" stationed in a visible location for a water display. This will be a rare opportunity to see something that is not often available, so it should be enjoyable for both children and adults.
Additionally, as a unique aspect of Kojima, we will have prizes sponsored by local Kojima companies for the fun lottery held as usual.
I believe this will also be an opportunity to learn about products from Kojima.
