About Mabi Showa-kan
The "Mabi Showa-kan," where the event is held, is a private museum located in Mabi, Kurashiki City.
It was renovated from a warehouse owned by the director and opened in 2012.
However, the Mabi Showa-kan was closed three times due to the heavy rain in July 2018 and the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
Now, it has overcome its difficulties and has reopened with renovations.
Inside, there are collections that the director has painstakingly gathered over many years.
Currently, it is open only on the first Sunday of each month, and anyone can drop by.
At the event, shops and food trucks set up stalls.

Many people visit the "Mabi Showa-kan" to enjoy the retro atmosphere.
To experience the Showa vibe, I headed to the "Summer! Festival of Food and Music!".
A Nostalgic Mabi Showa-kan
I stopped by the Mabi Showa-kan, which is the event venue.
Filled with impressive cars, one wall is packed with movie posters and Showa-era records.
Among them, a retro car stands out and leaves a lasting impression.
It is said that this car was used by figure skater Daisuke Takahashi from Kurashiki during the Vancouver Olympics parade.
I hope to ride in a moving car like this someday.
On the left side of the museum, I discovered an alley that exudes a Showa atmosphere.
The "Showa Retro Alley" resembles a townscape from the 1950s.
It seems that a "telephone booth from the 1950s" has been newly installed somewhere in the Mabi Showa-kan.
When you visit, be sure to look for it.
Enjoying Summer with a Retro Feel! Summer's Seasonal Treat, Kakigori
Outside the museum, a pleasant aroma wafts through the air.
Outside, shops and food trucks were selling food and drinks.
I discovered a shop selling kakigori from a food truck.
Since the temperature exceeded 35 degrees, I wanted something cold to eat.
I indulged in kakigori, a summer specialty.
I ordered kakigori with strawberry flavor and condensed milk topping.
While waiting for the kakigori to be prepared, I enjoyed the sound of ice being shaved, which made me feel cool.
While enjoying the cold treat, I relished the brain freeze.
Since I was sweating, my body was also very happy.
Kakigori is perfect for hot summer days.
I was able to fully enjoy a Showa summer at the Mabi Showa-kan.
Hot and Fresh Pizza! - 77MOE -
The aroma of baked cheese wafts from the pizza vendor "77MOE".
I was able to chat with the owner while ordering pizza.
It seems that they usually sell from a kitchen car.
The location is not fixed, and they set up at various events.

The pizza menu is extensive, and you can choose between S size and M size.
I ordered a Margherita in S size for lunch.
This is a freshly made Margherita.
It's hearty and hot pizza!
I enjoyed the melting cheese, and my heart melted too.

The Summer! Food and Music Festival! was filled with food, music, and the charm of the Showa era.
I enjoyed kakigori (shaved ice), a summer tradition, and felt the season while relishing summer.
