Features of Takashima

"Se-Tochi" is located on Takashima, a remote island in Kasaoka City, Okayama.

Takashima is about a 25-minute boat ride from Kasaoka Port. It is located at the northernmost tip of the Kasaoka Islands.

The island has a circumference of 5.9 kilometers.

Since the ferry does not dock, you cannot take a car to the island.
There are about 50 residents, but according to the staff at Se-Tochi, it feels like even fewer.

There are no cars running, so it is very relaxing!

Isn't it the greatest luxury to be able to spend time in a place with few people around?

You might even meet an island cat.

The 25-minute ride on the regular ferry to the island is also a good experience.

Enjoy cooking with Kasaoka ingredients

Kasaoka City has many attractive ingredients, such as Kasaoka seafood, Kasaoka beef, and paprika.
However, until now, there have been very few places in Kasaoka City where you can "consciously eat Kasaoka ingredients."

Se-Tochi proposes meals that utilize various ingredients from Kasaoka.

Since there are no stores on Takashima, you cannot buy ingredients or eat out on the island.

At Se-Tochi, they provide ingredient sets and recipes for guests to cook.

As of August 2020, they have 10 types of ingredient sets, including the following, as well as drinks including craft beer and rice.

• Curry set for training camps: 300 yen/person
• Seasonal seafood pescatore: 500 yen/person
• Barbecue set: 2,200 yen/person
• Japanese-style breakfast: 300 yen/person

If you order in advance, you can come to the island without bringing food on the day.
Orders or changes in quantity can be made up to 7 days before your stay.

They plan to continue developing recipes with the cooperation of chefs.

Let's introduce the facilities such as the rooms.

There are 6 private rooms as follows.

Out of the 6 rooms, 5 have a south-facing ocean view.

You can enjoy the beauty of the many islands in the Seto Inland Sea.

The dining hall has cypress flooring.

There is also a Bluetooth speaker.

The plants on display are chosen by the staff member Mizuguchi.

Some of them are a bit unusual, and I felt they have a sense of openness that matches the island's atmosphere.

The large hall is 17.5 tatami mats in size.

Gathering together to talk or eat while enjoying the view of the Seto Inland Sea outside the window.
It should be a relaxing time.

The kitchen is also spacious and can accommodate large groups for cooking.

There are also low kitchen counters for children and child-sized knives.

There is a regular bath, but my recommendation is the optional rock bath!

Advance reservation is required, and it is available for an optional price of 10,000 yen (excluding tax).
The men's and women's baths are separated.

The view is very nice, so how about enjoying it during the bright daytime?

You can also use the washing machine.

The spacious garden is also one of its attractions.

You can purchase charcoal as an option, so there is no need to bring tools from outside the island.
