What is the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea × MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki Special Event?

The collaboration event between MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki and the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea is being held from July 1, 2024 (Monday) to September 30, 2024 (Monday).

It was planned with the idea of allowing guests to enjoy shopping in the city after enjoying afternoon tea.

By bringing the receipt from the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea or using the MITSUI Shopping Park Card "Saison" for payment, guests can receive special benefits at MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki.

There are two types of benefits available.

1. "Lupicia Bon Marche" Tea Bag Set
2. MITSUI OUTLET PARK Shopping and Dining Coupons

“Lupicia Bon Marche” Tea Bag Set

The item that can be obtained by exchanging the receipt from the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea is a tea bag set from the specialty tea shop Lupicia.

The brand of tea is "Lupicia Bon Marche," an original brand developed by Lupicia with the concept of "mottainai" (waste not).
With a wide variety of flavors, the tea will be randomly given at the time of exchange, making it a surprise for guests to find out which tea they will receive on the day.

The exchange location is at the information center on the first floor of MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki. It is limited to the first 150 people each month, so it is recommended to exchange early.

MITSUI OUTLET PARK Shopping and Dining Coupons

If you pay for the afternoon tea using the MITSUI Shopping Park Card "Saison", you will receive shopping and dining coupons for MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki.

There are two types of payment: on-the-day payment and advance payment.

For on-the-day payment, if you use the MITSUI Shopping Park Card "Saison" to pay for the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea and bring the credit slip to the information center, you can receive 500 yen worth of shopping and dining coupons for purchases over 5,000 yen at MITSUI OUTLET PARK.

Advance payment is only valid for those using the Japan Travel package plan for Kurashiki Afternoon Tea. If you present the reservation completion email and the MITSUI Shopping Park Card "Saison" used for payment at the information center, you will receive 500 yen worth of shopping and dining coupons for every 3,000 yen (including tax). The maximum gift limit is 3,000 yen.

The Japan Travel package plan includes round-trip Shinkansen tickets from the Kansai region and one meal of Kurashiki Afternoon Tea, making it a great deal starting at 8,700 yen including transportation costs.

Can you tell us about how the collaboration came to be?

Since many female customers visit the outlet, we considered what kind of event would be enjoyable for them, and as a result, we planned a collaboration event with the popular Kurashiki Afternoon Tea.

Initially, we were planning it for members of the MITSUI Shopping Park Card "Saison" with the idea of "not only enjoying shopping but also afternoon tea," but as we progressed, it became a flow of wanting customers of the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea to enjoy MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki as well, and we prepared novelties for non-members too.

First of all, I was very grateful that you were aware of the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea. With the wonderful novelties and benefits prepared, I felt, "Is it really okay to have such a luxurious collaboration?"

Also, MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki has a strong outreach to areas outside the city and prefecture, so it was very helpful that they promoted this project to their members.

Conversely, we were helped by the strong outreach of the Kurashiki Afternoon Tea's Instagram. Through mutual information dissemination, we hope to attract more customers.

The event has already started; how has the response from customers been?

Hiyama

It has been just under a month since the event started, and we have distributed many Lupicia tea novelties to customers. The exchange of shopping and dining coupons has also been increasing.

As a facility, we had a desire to let those visiting for sightseeing in the Bikan Historical Area know about the existence of MITSUI OUTLET PARK Kurashiki, so we are very pleased that this event has led to more visitors.

Customers have expressed their delight, saying things like, "I can't believe I can receive such a great item" and "I'm glad I came all the way here." We are also grateful that people who used the afternoon tea in the Kojima area have come to visit us.

Many customers stop by the information center and then go shopping, so it seems they are enjoying both afternoon tea and shopping, which is great.

On Instagram, there have been posts from customers who exchanged their benefits, saying, "I received a wonderful novelty from Lupicia!" and sharing photos of the tea bags. I am happy to see that they are enjoying it.
