A new café has opened in a peaceful residential area just off the busy Gokenya Line road.
The name of the café is Café Miyake.
Both the exterior and interior are stylish and cute like a café, and it seems that lively conversations in the Okayama dialect from the owner, Miyake Maiko, can be heard from inside.
It has already become a topic of conversation in the community, collaborating with various shops.
Curious about what kind of place it is, I promptly visited "Café Miyake."
What is Café Miyake
Café Miyake opened on December 24, 2022, in a residential area of Tsurajima, Kurashiki City.
The white-walled building is "Café Miyake," while the adjacent navy building houses the miscellaneous goods store and atelier "A-nuts."
There are four parking spaces available in front of the shop.
The striking red entrance leaves a strong impression.
A cute character sign resembling the unique owner welcomes visitors.
The built-in wooden deck is designed so that those with dogs can also enjoy their time there.
Inside Café Miyake
While the red door entrance is eye-catching, the interior is even more colorful.
The moment you enter, a charming space that feels like stepping into a fairy tale unfolds before you.
The Nordic interior goods and tableware displayed in the store are all items that the owner, Miyake, collected diligently, influenced by a trip to Finland during his graduate school days.
It has become a space that packs in everything the owner loves.

The unreal space inside the store sparkles and seems to captivate the hearts of those who visit.
Additionally, there are works by emerging artists that Miyake supports, as well as goods from the neighboring "A-nuts." displayed.

There are also muffins available for takeout, which people buy as souvenirs.
Rare cheesecake
It seems that the contents and sauce change with the seasons, and when the author visited, it was a rare cheesecake with strawberries.
The texture of the strawberry seeds spreads in the mouth, and the sweetness and acidity match perfectly, making it go well with coffee.
Bavarian cream
The Bavarian cream that was just recently released.
At the moment it enters the mouth, it seems to melt, but later on, the rich taste of cream is firmly felt, making it very sweet and delicious.
It was a dessert that made the author want to order again.
Beverages and Collaboration Products
There are many types of beverages that go well with snacks.
Coffee
Although it is not very popular in Okayama, the "ORIGAMI Dripper," which is mainstream worldwide, is used.
The beans are sourced from "Coffee Roast Okabe" located in Mizushima.
The blends are of course delicious, but the "Today's Coffee Beans" is the owner's recommendation.
I usually don't drink much coffee, but I was able to enjoy it without sugar or milk.
In addition to coffee, there are satisfying menu items such as cream soda and banana juice that go well with snacks.
Collaboration Projects
Kissa Miyake is popular for its collaborations with various shops and products.
Sometimes these collaborations are decided suddenly, so checking on Instagram is essential.
During collaboration projects, items can sell out in just about 30 minutes.
