The Higashimachi area, located a little away from the center of the tourist spot Bikan Historical Area in Kurashiki.
In the Higashimachi area, where residential and tourist areas are mixed, there is a crepe specialty shop called Nijiiro Shoten.
I heard that they collaborated with other stores for the first time in June 2023, so I was curious and decided to check it out.
I will introduce products that have the essence of Nijiiro Shoten while also showing new aspects.
About Nijiiro Shoten
Nijiiro Shoten is a crepe specialty shop that renovated a white-walled building.
The shop is operated by the Rainbow Cafe Project, a cooperative aimed at supporting the independence of people with disabilities.

It seems that 90% of the miscellaneous goods and paintings are collected from workshops in facilities for people with disabilities in Okayama Prefecture.

Crepes may have a strong image of being takeout, but at Nijiiro Shoten, they want you to enjoy them slowly in the shop.
There are three main types of crepes.
- Crepes (using sweet potatoes and fruits)
- Deli crepes (savory options with sausages, etc.)
- Hot butter crepes (simple with fewer ingredients)

Instead of being served in rolled paper, they are served on a plate.
Just having it on a plate makes it seem like you can enjoy it leisurely.

Since June 2023, in addition to the traditional crepes, collaboration menus have also been introduced.
I tried the collaboration menu
Let me introduce the limited-time menu I was aiming for.
Thanks to the business partnership between two stores, you can now enjoy the menu from Tsunagu Saboh in Osaka at Nijiiro Shoten.
The collaboration menu changes once a month.
Melon Bouquet Crepe from Saboh
The first collaboration menu, which is a memorable one, is the Melon Bouquet Crepe from Saboh.
As the name suggests, it has a cute appearance that resembles a bouquet.

Round melons are adorned with edible flowers, mint, and other decorations.
There are also cherries and blueberries, adding a splash of color.
Under the fruits, there is a mildly sweet mascarpone cheese cream that adds richness to the flavor.
The refreshing mint also does a great job.

The crepe dough has a hint of tea flavor, and when eaten with the cream, it transforms into a taste reminiscent of royal milk tea in the mouth.
You can enjoy the cute round fruits either with the flowers or wrapped in the dough.
I savored it while being healed by its cuteness.

The Melon Bouquet Crepe from Saboh was discontinued on July 9, 2023, but new collaboration menus will be born every month.
Menu information is announced on Nijiiro Shoten's Instagram, so please check here.
Melon Cream Soda
There is also a collaboration menu for drinks.
The crepes are limited-time only, but the drinks are available at all times.
There are two types: Melon Cream Soda and Natural Strawberry Cream Soda.
Since I was interviewing in June, I thought it would be summery, so I chose the Melon Cream Soda.

You can feel the freshness just from the appearance.
On top, there is vanilla ice cream and a cookie of Tsunagu Saboh's character, Saboh-kun.
Like the crepes, this drink was overflowing with cuteness.
Reservations are recommended if you want to eat
The crepes from the collaboration menu are limited in quantity.
You can eat them if they are available when you walk in, but reservations are recommended.
