When I think back to the times I ate cake, it may be associated with "a little special occasion" such as birthdays, Christmas, celebrations, or when guests were present.
We now live in an era where cakes can be easily purchased at convenience stores and supermarkets.
Therefore, I believe that cakes purchased from a cake shop feel a bit more special to many people.
Sweets milcrown, located in Mizushima, Kurashiki, is a local cake shop that opened in 2006.
Because cake shops are not places we visit every day, they offer products that can bring smiles to everyone, both adults and children.
I would like to introduce "Sweets milcrown," which I highly recommend for sweets on anniversaries, events, or when entertaining guests.
About Sweets milcrown
Sweets milcrown (hereinafter referred to as "Milcrown") is a cake shop located in Mizushima, Kurashiki City. It is characterized by its very cute entrance.
Originally operated as a café and cake shop, it is now only a cake shop.

Looking inside the shop, the showcase displays classic items such as strawberry shortcake and gateau chocolat, as well as tarts topped with seasonal fruits and the popular item "Mont Blanc with chestnuts," which has been a favorite since the shop opened.

There were also various baked goods for sale, such as cookies and the intriguing spice pound cake, which piques one's imagination about its flavor.

Sweets milcrown Menu
Let me introduce some of the popular menu items at Milcrown.
Recommended by the manager! Mont Blanc with chestnuts

The "Mont Blanc with chestnuts" has been popular since the shop opened.
It uses plenty of Japanese chestnuts and remains a popular item even now.
The taste is, of course, delicious, but what surprised me the most was the filling.
Not only does the Mont Blanc contain chestnuts, but it also has baked meringue coated in chocolate. The crunchy texture of the meringue adds an accent.
I felt that they are not only differentiating themselves from other shops in subtle ways but also bringing joy to customers and delivering happiness through such innovations.
Recommended by the manager! Engadine

Another product I would like to recommend is the Engadin nut cake.
This is a baked confectionery originating from Switzerland, made by sandwiching walnuts and caramel between shortbread.
In fact, this Engadin nut cake is the store manager's personal favorite sweet, and when it is in front of him, he can't help but eat it, sometimes realizing it's gone before he knows it.
He hopes that many customers will also get to enjoy such Engadin nut cakes.
Although it may not be a well-known sweet, it is definitely a dish worth tasting.
Recommended by the author! Strawberry Tart

Cakes and tarts topped with fruits are also not to be missed.
At the time of the interview, a tart made with strawberries was being sold.
On top of a firm, crispy tart crust, there is a generous amount of mildly sweet cream.
The tart pairs perfectly with the sweet and sour strawberries.
The fruits used in tarts and fruit cakes change with the seasons.
Recommended by the author! Cream Puff

One of the popular items that cannot be missed is the cream puff.
Overall, it is quite voluminous and filled with a very mildly sweet cream.
The outer choux pastry is said to be baked with a layer of almond cream (demand), providing a rich and fragrant flavor.
The choux pastry is crispy when you bite into it, allowing you to enjoy the contrast in texture with the cream.
Of course, for anniversaries, and as a little reward, you will want to visit "sweets milcrown" when you want to buy a cake.
I spoke with the store manager, Ozaki Katsuya.
