About TRATTORIA noi

TRATTORIA noi is an Italian restaurant that opened in front of JR Soja Station in September 2022.
The owner, Fujiwara Yohei, has always loved food.
He says he discovered Italian cuisine after he started cooking for himself.
The more he learned, the more he was captivated by its depth, and he decided to open his own restaurant because he wanted to serve dishes that only he could create.
Today, all kinds of people visit to enjoy a meal, whether dining alone for lunch or coming with a spouse, friends, or family.
Lunch menu featuring seasonal ingredients
TRATTORIA noi has different menus for lunch and dinner.
Lunch offers two options, Course A and Course B, while dinner guests can choose individual dishes.

The menu shown is what was available at the time of the visit.
During the visit, we chose the Course B lunch.
In addition to soup, an appetizer, pasta, dessert, and a drink, Course B includes the day’s main dish.

The first dish was ribollita, a traditional Italian soup made by slowly simmering leftover vegetables and beans.
Its gentle flavor is especially comforting on a cold day, warming you right through.

The appetizer plate featured four dishes: seared Spanish mackerel carpaccio, carpione-style young sweetfish, braised beef tongue, and stewed baby octopus.
Each dish had just the right balance of saltiness and acidity, making them all wonderfully appetizing.

The homemade focaccia has a satisfyingly chewy texture and is wonderfully filling.

You can choose from two kinds of pasta at lunch.
At the time of the visit, the options were Spanish mackerel and chrysanthemum greens with bottarga oil sauce and linguine with spear squid and squid ink sauce.
The dish I chose, “Spanish mackerel and chrysanthemum greens with bottarga oil sauce,” whets the appetite with the aroma of garlic and a pleasant kick of heat.

The main meat dish is Daisen pork shoulder loin cutlet with green salad.
The juicy meat wrapped in a crisp coating is superb.
It was more tender than any meat I’d ever tasted, and although I meant to savor it slowly, I polished it off in no time.

Dessert is bonet, a chocolate-flavored pudding, and espresso gelato. The balance of sweetness and bitterness is just right, and they were so delicious I wanted seconds.
Alcoholic and soft drinks that bring out the best in the food
TRATTORIA noi mainly serves wines sourced from Kurashiki Sake Shop Itokichi.

You can choose a wine yourself, but we recommend letting the staff choose for you.
They can suggest wines that pair well with the food or suit your preferences.
Non-alcoholic options include drinks made with homemade syrups as well as soft drinks. The homemade syrups are made with seasonal ingredients and have a lightly sweet, refreshing flavor that goes down easily.

At the time of the visit, homemade syrups made with roselle, an edible hibiscus, and red kiwi were available.
They have a refreshing mouthfeel and a gently sweet-and-sour aroma, with a delicate flavor that doesn’t overpower the food.
Late-night pasta for a slightly special evening
Late-night pasta is held irregularly.
The restaurant opens late, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., with a limited menu of pasta and desserts.

They say all kinds of customers come in, whether for a quick bite as a second stop after drinks, a late-night snack, or a hearty dinner.
It’s perfect when you want to enjoy a relaxing moment that you can only experience late at night.

We spoke with owner Fujiwara Yohei, who is passionate about both his cooking and creating a welcoming restaurant.
