One of the places that guarantees education for such children is the hospital school.

At Kurashiki Central Hospital, a public interest incorporated foundation (hereinafter referred to as "Kurashiki Central Hospital"), which has established hospital schools for Kurashiki-Higashi Elementary School and Kurashiki-Higashi Junior High School, an exhibition showcasing the works of children from the hospital school will be held starting in the 2024 academic year.

This year, the exhibition will be held from March 13 (Friday) to 12 days, in the first-floor Central Parlor, where general visitors can easily stop by.

The hospital school is a special support class for children and students who must be hospitalized due to injury or illness, established within the hospital for those who are weak or physically frail.

In the pediatric ward of Kurashiki Central Hospital, there is a hospital school designated as a special support class for weak or physically frail students from Kurashiki-Higashi Elementary School and Kurashiki-Higashi Junior High School.

Students attending the hospital school go through transfer procedures to enroll and continue their studies in various subjects while prioritizing treatment and examinations. The learning content is based on the textbooks and materials from the school they were enrolled in before hospitalization. Additionally, junior high school students can request problems from their previous school and take regular and proficiency tests.

Since it is a special support class, there is also a time for independent activities unique to special support education. Kurashiki Central Hospital has named it "Time of Energy", where children gather together to engage in activities that deepen their interactions.
