The Bikan Historical Area features traditional wooden architecture from the Edo period.
This year (2023) has seen many tourists visiting, but an event that surprisingly didn't exist before is the "Marche."
"There isn't enough space to hold a marche..."
I accepted that, but I learned that a marche would be held in the Bikan Historical Area. Moreover, I heard it would take place in the courtyard of the Ohara Museum of Art, a cultural facility that Kurashiki is proud of, and I was curious about what it would be like, so I went to check it out.
What is the "Ohara Museum Courtyard Marche"?
The "Ohara Museum Courtyard Marche" was held on November 26, 2023 (Sunday) from 10 AM to 3 PM, organized by the Ohara Museum Museum Shop.
It is a small marche with 10 shops set up in the courtyard in front of the Crafts and Oriental Art Museum and in front of the Annex.
This was the first event, meaning it was the inaugural event.

Venue Overview
After finishing my errands, I arrived at the venue a little after 1 PM.
On this day (November 26, 2023), the weather was nice, and many tourists were visiting the Bikan Historical Area.
There was a sign directing visitors in front of the main building of the Ohara Museum of Art.
I headed towards the venue.
Upon entering the venue, I found that some shops had already closed...
When I asked the staff, they said that many customers had visited from the start, and several shops had run out of stock early.
I thought, "There's nothing I can do since I arrived late," and decided to look around the venue.

Conclusion
The courtyard of the Ohara Museum of Art can be accessed without entering the museum.
It is a spacious area within the Bikan Historical Area, where tourists often take breaks, but some may have felt it was somewhat unapproachable.
I feel that utilizing it in the form of a marche is a good idea.
Although it was the inaugural event, I hope it will continue to be held in the future.
