On March 26, 2021 (Friday), from 4 PM to 8 PM, the Rintetsu Garden was held.
The "Rintetsu Garden" is a market event held utilizing the space along the Mizushima Rinkai Railway.
In addition to delicious food and drinks, there are workshops, making it an event enjoyable for both adults and children.
I will report on the state of the "Rintetsu Garden".
About Rintetsu Garden
The "Rintetsu Garden" is a market event aimed at regional revitalization in the Mizushima area, utilizing the space under the elevated tracks of the Mizushima Rinkai Railway and surrounding parks.
In 2021, it will be held five times in March, May, July, September, and November.
This time, there were a total of 17 shops, including 14 food vendors and 3 shops selling miscellaneous goods.
The venue is under the elevated tracks of Mizushima Rinkai Railway's Sakae Station and Mizushima Higashitake-cho First Park.
The State of Rintetsu Garden
Aramezon
Aramezon is a shop specializing in chewy fresh pasta.
The fresh pasta blended with sauce made from ingredients sourced in Okayama Prefecture and Okayama's "Bokke- flour" is exquisite.
At Rintetsu Garden, they were selling six types of pasta.
The pasta mixed on top of a large piece of cheese is covered with plenty of cheese.
One of the charms of Rintetsu Garden is being able to see the cooking process that you usually cannot witness.
I had the tomato pasta, but I wanted to try all the other flavors as well.
T's Clover
T's Clover catches the eye with its many lined-up scones.
At Rintetsu Garden, they were selling scones and drinks.
There are over 10 different flavors of scones, making it very difficult to choose which one to eat.
I chose three types of scones: plain, lemon, and white peach tea.
The scones, about the size of my palm, have just the right sweetness and a crispy texture that makes you keep reaching for more.
Additionally, there were both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available.
Since I am underage and cannot drink alcohol yet, I decided to have sparkling tea.
I couldn't imagine what carbonated tea would be like, but when I actually tried it, the aroma of the tea combined with the fizzy sensation was addictive.
Diatomaceous Earth Kikuchi
Kikuchi of diatomaceous earth was engaged in the sale of diatomaceous earth and wall painting experiences.
Diatomaceous earth is a natural material formed from the fossilization of algae that accumulated on the seabed or lakebed.
It has the effect of purifying the air by absorbing moisture and odors, as well as suppressing the growth of mold and dust mites.
At the Mizushima Rinkai Railway Garden, experiments with diatomaceous earth and humidity were also conducted.
In the humidity experiment, two tanks with glasses of water were placed side by side, one with a wall coated in diatomaceous earth and the other with a wall that was not coated.
The tank with the wall coated in diatomaceous earth showed no cloudiness, while the other was so cloudy that the inside could not be seen.
Additionally, there were workshops where children could leave handprints and footprints.
When I asked the staff why they were participating in the Mizushima Rinkai Railway Garden, they said, "We want people to realize the charm of diatomaceous earth through experiments and experiences."
Monotone Leather
Monotone Leather handles leather products made from Italian leather.
At the Mizushima Rinkai Railway Garden, they had both product sales and workshops.
Among the leather products, the cord reel caught my eye.
It can not only organize cords but also bundle hair accessories and mask elastics.
There are many color options, and each one has a different shade, making it enjoyable to search for one that you like.
In the workshop, participants will engrave on name tags.
You decide on the pattern of the stamp used for engraving, and there are so many types that it can be hard to choose which one to use.
I was absorbed in my work alone, but in front of me, a small child was happily choosing stamps with their father.
Kurashiki Ablaze Sports Event
The sports event held at Mizushima Higashi-Touei Park was organized by the volleyball team Kurashiki Ablaze.
Kurashiki Ablaze is a women's volleyball team that started in April 2019 and participates in the Mizushima Rinkai Railway Garden as a community-oriented team.
They were conducting a strike-out game for children.
The vision training was designed to be enjoyable for both adults and children, as they desperately chase the light to achieve their best record.
The park, located a little away from the food stalls, provided a space where people could enjoy moving their bodies.
Other various shops
I cannot introduce everything, but there were other wonderful shops as well.
Conclusion
The market event, Rintei Garden, was held under the elevated tracks of Mizushima Rinkai Railway.
During the event, many people spent their time leisurely sitting and chatting.
I think it is an event where you can enjoy not only delicious food but also connections with people through conversations.
The next event is scheduled to be held on May 28, 2021 (Friday).
I am very much looking forward to what I will eat next and what discoveries I will make.
