About a 7-minute walk from JR Kurashiki Station, there is a restaurant run by the owner of a flower shop, located just a little away from the shopping street.
The entrance, surrounded by many plants, is a landmark.
The store is located on the second floor, up a staircase, allowing guests to enjoy their time without worrying about prying eyes, giving it a feel of an adult hideaway.
Let me introduce Salon de Tonerico, where you can enjoy dishes, desserts, and alcohol in a space filled with flowers and greenery.
Salon de Tonerico closed on June 11, 2023 (Sunday), and from June 14, 2023 (Wednesday), it has been operating in the same location as a shop specializing in pairing alcohol and sweets called Moon grace.
A stylish interior healed by many flowers
The interior of Salon de Tonerico is based on black, creating a modern atmosphere.
Colorful flowers and greenery are decorated, standing out against the black interior.
Looking at and smelling the plants made me feel quite calm.
Since I visited during lunchtime, the store was bustling with people having lunch with friends and colleagues.
During my visit, the theme color was yellow, and many yellow flowers were decorated in the store. It was truly beautiful.
The theme color changes depending on the season and time, so the atmosphere may be different when you visit next time.
The counter and window seats seem easy to use even for one person.
Introduction of popular menu items
The lunch menu during my visit included three types: salad lunch course, pasta lunch course, and gratin lunch course. All were priced at 1,500 yen (including tax).
I will introduce the most popular salad lunch course and the hearty gratin lunch course that I had.
Appetizer
The appetizer features rapeseed flowers with a sauce made from yellow bell peppers, the same color as the store's theme.
It is very vibrant.
To bring out the flavor of the ingredients, it is lightly seasoned.
Soup and baguette
The freshly baked garlic toast was fragrant and delicious.
The croissant becomes even more delicious when dipped in olive oil halfway through.
The turnip soup had a strong turnip flavor and a hint of sweetness.
Seasonal bouquet salad
It is such a cute salad that it feels almost a shame to eat it.
Edible flowers are adorably arranged, making you smile just by looking at them.
The salad is packed with strawberries from Funao in Kurashiki City, fresh pesticide-free vegetables grown hydroponically, prosciutto, nuts, and cheese.
The nuts are plentiful, and they pair perfectly with the cheese and prosciutto.
The acidity of the strawberries and kiwifruit adds a nice accent.
You can adjust the flavor to your liking by adding dressing along the way.
Both my stomach and heart were satisfied.
Chicken gratin with mushrooms
This gratin is packed with chicken and penne, making it very hearty.
The hot dish is filled with the flavor of mushrooms.
With a gentle seasoning, it is not too heavy, making it easy to eat.
Dessert of the lunch course
During my visit, it was a mini-sized gateau chocolat.
It was sweet yet refreshing, and seemed to pair well with alcohol.
The flowers served with it are, of course, edible.
Pistachio and cassis tiramisu parfait 800 yen (including tax)
This is a tiramisu parfait that expresses the budding of flowers on top of the tiramisu.
Cassis sauce, chocolate cake, nuts, pistachio ice cream, and cornflakes are beautifully layered.
I was excited by the stylish parfait with a slightly adult color scheme.
Pistachio ice cream is refreshing, and it tastes even better when eaten with nuts.
Mixing everything with the cassis sauce at the bottom changes the flavor, allowing for multiple enjoyable experiences.
I felt enchanted by this special dessert after a meal.
