I want to spread the culture of soba in Kurashiki.
From that desire, "Trattoria Homemade Soba Takenoya" opened in October 2016.
It is a stylish and chic place, yet it has a comforting atmosphere where you can casually enjoy soba.
You can enjoy a delicious soba lunch served in beautiful dishes in a traditional wooden house with white plaster walls.
While inheriting the local soba flavors, we will introduce a restaurant where you can encounter the new deliciousness of soba that is particular to "Takenoya."
A 150-year-old traditional house trattoria overlooking a garden of the four seasons

After passing through Kurashiki Ichibangai from JR Kurashiki Station, you will find the entrance appearing on the wall of an old mansion. It has a special atmosphere.
To the right is "Trattoria Homemade Soba Takenoya," and to the left is the Japanese restaurant "Takenoya Bettei."

The exterior of "Trattoria Homemade Soba Takenoya." It is a charming building renovated from a 150-year-old traditional house.

A spacious garden located between "Trattoria Homemade Soba Takenoya" and "Takenoya Bettei."
Since it was March during the interview, it has a somewhat lonely atmosphere, but in spring, it is said that "sakura" and "azalea" bloom, creating a vibrant scenery.

At night, the gentle light of the lantern welcomes you.
The character "武" in Takenoya is inspired by "takenawa," which means "the height of a banquet."

This signboard carved into white wood is actually handmade by customers.
Around the character "武" in Takenoya, the symbol mark is surrounded by double and triple circles, which conveys the thought of
"May the connections expand around Takenoya"
It is a simple and wonderful mark.

By the way, if you are driving, there is a dedicated parking lot just after turning left at the sign for Kurashiki Ichibangai.

A calm interior with jazz music and a modern Japanese style

The sound of jazz resonates softly, and gentle light filters into the interior of Takenoya.
The tones are unified in a chic manner, but perhaps due to the warmth of the wood, it does not feel dark.

Table seats facing the window. They are very high-end yet somehow feel comfortable.

From the table seats, you can see the garden well.
In spring, cherry blossoms, azaleas, autumn foliage, and winter snow scenery can be seen.

Around the counter, there are many old props and cute items.

An antique foot-operated sewing machine reminiscent of the NHK drama "Carnation." It is said to be still usable.
The denim fabric has the "武" mark firmly stitched. The detailed production is stylish.

Although it wasn't sewn with the antique sewing machine, I took a photo of the staff's beautiful apron. I want one!
In addition to the apron, the table mats, coasters, and noren (traditional shop curtain) are all made of denim.
Speaking of denim, Kojima in Kurashiki City is known for it. It is said that they went to a local denim factory and purchased a large piece of fabric to make these items.

The second floor of Takenoya has tatami seating divided into three rooms. This makes it safe for small children.
It can be used for a wide range of occasions, regardless of age or gender, such as a baby's first meal or a 60th birthday celebration.
Takenoya's Lunch Menu: Various Types of Noodles

Before opening the menu at Takenoya, please take a look at the menu sheet. It's really wonderful.
Lunch features white wood, dinner features denim, and drinks feature leather, each with different materials.

There are 17 types of soba for lunch. The variety includes Italian-style, thin and thick noodles, and sauced soba.
The fun of choosing, thinking "Which soba should I have next...," explains why there are so many repeat customers.
Of course, there is also authentic seiro soba. By the way, the 100% buckwheat soba is only available during dinner time.
Another specialty is the "Wari-ko Soba" from Takenoya's soba master, Izumoya.
Izumoya was a long-loved soba restaurant near Takenoya.
Although it closed down with regret, Takenoya has inherited its flavor, and the soba broth replicates the exact taste of Izumoya.
The owner of Izumoya still visits Takenoya once a month to check the taste.
Thick Noodle Dashi Rice Set: "Wagyu Beef Soba."

"Wagyu Beef Soba (Hot) with Dashi Rice Set." 1,518 yen (tax included).
This hearty set includes warm soba with plenty of wagyu, 18-grain rice, and homemade pickles.

The broth made from domestic beef Achilles exudes a rich and luxurious aroma.
This clarity is hard to believe it's soba broth. There is absolutely no beef odor.
When you take a bite, a subtle sweetness and the unique rich umami of beef spreads.

The chewy thick noodles pair perfectly with the broth!
The soba has a firm elasticity, making it a satisfying bowl that exceeds its appearance.

The enjoyment after finishing the noodles. Seeing these condiments makes you want to...

Yes, "Ochazuke-style"!
The sweet dashi pairs surprisingly well with the 18-grain rice, making it a recommended way to enjoy it.
You can pour plenty of soba broth over it and enjoy it deliciously until the very last bite.
Soba with Mozzarella Cheese and Eggplant in Tomato Sauce Served with Flat Noodles

This is the flat noodle "Soba with Mozzarella Cheese and Eggplant in Tomato Sauce." 1,628 yen (tax included).
This soba set has a trattoria style. It seems to be a staple soba dish, especially among young people for lunch.

The flat noodles, similar to pasta tagliatelle, are generously coated with tomato sauce.
The red of the tomato sauce contrasts beautifully with the white of Hasami ware and the blue. This dish is also a part of the experience.

The combination of soba and tomato sauce is an exciting first experience!
The flat soba has a chewy texture, with a surprisingly firm bite.
It feels denser than pasta.
The sweet and rich tomato sauce combined with the robust aroma of soba makes it irresistibly delicious.

The trattoria-style soba comes with a salad and bread. The butter oil for the bread was delicious.
Homemade Soba Tea Pudding with Galette: Soba-themed Desserts

The lunch set comes with a dessert. Of course, it's a soba sweet!
This is a crepe made with buckwheat flour, "Takenoya Special Dessert Galette."
You can change to a galette for an additional 300 yen with lunch. It's so beautiful...

I've never seen a galette presented so beautifully. It's a shame to eat it!
The lightly moist galette is topped with ice cream, syrup, and a variety of colorful fruits.

The regular dessert also includes homemade soba tea pudding or homemade soba tea ice cream, along with Dattan soba tea and homemade soba cookies.
The soba tea pudding is also fluffy with a refined sweetness. It's a dessert that captures the roasted aroma of soba tea.
Spring Limited Edition: "Sakura Shrimp Tempura and Sakura Soba"

This time, I was shown the limited-time "Sakura Shrimp Tempura and Sakura Soba" available during the cherry blossom season.
For details about the serving period, please contact the restaurant.
This set includes a large tempura filled with plenty of sakura shrimp and sakura-colored soba.

Wow, what a beautiful cherry blossom color! This soba is so adorable that it feels almost too precious to eat.
The soba is made using Sarashina flour (which is white because it is ground from the center part of the buckwheat grain) and incorporates cherry blossom leaves.
It seems there are many fans eagerly awaiting the cherry blossom soba. I want to go eat it too!
You can buy your favorite tableware! Hasami Ware and Masking Tape

Near the register, there is a sales space for Hasami ware, which is made in Hasami-cho, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Hasami ware has a history of 400 years and is loved recently as stylish and modern tableware perfect for everyday use.

At Takenoya, Hasami ware is mainly used for lunch.
Customers requested, "We want you to sell the tableware," and so they started selling it in the store.

The Hasami ware from the kiln "natural69," which still visits for purchasing, is characterized by its beautiful indigo color. The patterns are also cute.
It seems that the compatibility of this indigo color with denim was a deciding factor. I want this!

Personally, I love this little bird. The smoothness of the porcelain is nice.

Does this small plate look familiar? It was used for the condiments of dashi rice.
It's nice to be able to purchase the plates you like.

This is a masking tape developed in collaboration with the kiln natural69.
This original masking tape, available only at Takenoya and natural69, features patterns from nine pieces of tableware.
Spend wonderful time with loved ones. A place you want to visit again and again

While interviewing, many faces came to mind that I would like to bring to Takenoya.
I thought, that person would surely like this soba, and that person would probably like this.
No matter who you bring, they will surely be pleased, and you can spend a fun time together. I think a place that makes you feel this way is truly amazing.

It has a charm that can only be described as Takenoya's uniqueness, neither Japanese nor Western.
From the soba to the tableware, interior, and BGM, there was a heartfelt pursuit of "Takenoya's uniqueness."

Connections among people expand around Takenoya, and those people visit Takenoya again.
Just like a symbol mark, the connections of Takenoya are showing expansion.
In April 2019, the "Takenoya Nakasho Store" opened, and in July 2021, the "Takenoya Bettei" opened across the street, making it even harder to take your eyes off Kurashiki's soba restaurant "Takenoya."
