Among them, I visited "Cafe&Bar FLAGO", which became a topic of conversation from the very beginning with "A stylish cafe has opened!"
FLAGO celebrated its first anniversary in August 2019.
With handmade lunches full of vegetables, it is bustling during lunchtime, especially with young women.
The lunch, which is particular about domestic and locally sourced ingredients, has a gentle taste that extends to all handmade desserts.
Despite being stylish, the atmosphere is relaxed and easy to enter even with children, which may be due to the personality of the manager.
It is stylish and cute, but it is full of charm beyond that.

In Minamimachi, Kurashiki City, where unique cafes are scattered.
Among them, "Cafe&Bar FLAGO" stands out with its chic exterior.
FLAGO is a stylish name, isn't it?
Did it come from flamingo?
Or hula dance?
Hula language?
When I asked about the origin, I was told, "It was really just a whim," and that it doesn't have any particular meaning!
There are three parking spaces next to the shop.
By the way, there are very few shops with parking in the Minamimachi area near JR Kurashiki Station.
The cute interior is based on white.
You can see the manager, Mr. Kurosaki, at the counter.
Mr. Kurosaki, who is from Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, opened FLAGO after working for several years at a restaurant in front of JR Kurashiki Station, introduced by an acquaintance who was the owner of the building.
He was told by the owner, "You can do whatever you want with the interior and the menu," and he was entrusted with the entire production of the shop.
The interior and menu, which Mr. Kurosaki handled from scratch, create a bright and relaxing space.
In the sofa seats, you can relax comfortably.
The arrangement of greenery is subtle, and despite being a stylish cafe, it has a charm that makes it easy to enter even with children.
Mr. Kurosaki mentioned, "I want to make some more changes to the interior."
Will the shop gradually change from now on?

The lunch menu at FLAGO offers four types to choose from.
The drink set is an additional 200 yen, and the dessert set is an additional 500 yen.
The one-plate meal includes pasta, omelet rice, and the dessert changes daily, so please ask the manager.
From October 2019, all menu prices will remain the same, and the consumption tax will be 10%.
The takeout menu features drinks that make you want to take photos.
Names like "Setouchi Blue Lemonade," "FLAGO PINK," and "Aurora Lemonade" are all wonderful.
The bar menu also looks delicious.
They incorporate as many domestic and Okayama-produced ingredients as possible, such as "Momotaro tomatoes," "Shimotsui octopus," and "Okayama peach pork."
I'm curious about "Ajillo with mushrooms from Ushimado," "homemade roast beef," and "Mao Zedong chicken"!
When I was shown the spices for the Mao Zedong chicken, I was knocked out by the appetizing aroma of shrimp and Sichuan pepper.
It must be absolutely delicious!
The pasta uses fresh pasta from "Fuji Menzu Kobo" in Okayama City.
It is said to have a delicious chewy texture.
Both lunch and bar time are non-smoking, making it a great option for dining with children.

The manager's recommended "roast beef bowl" is 1,100 yen (tax included).
The roast beef bowl served in a cute dish comes with five types of handmade side dishes for this price.
It has a good amount of volume as well.
The roast beef, made from domestic wagyu beef, is plentiful!
And it is surprisingly tender, pairing well with the light rice from Mie Prefecture.
The secret to its tenderness is said to be "cooking it slowly," but actually cooking it is quite difficult.
Eating it with the onion and tomato sauce enhances the flavor of the meat, making it a standout dish.
The soup, potato salad, kinpira lotus root, omelet, and salad are all handmade by the manager.
It's nice to have a variety of side dishes with plenty of vegetables.
Each has a comforting, homey flavor that makes you feel at ease.
The wooden plate is also cute, and I couldn't help but take several photos.
It's a lunch plate that satisfies the eyes, the palate, and the stomach.

It seems they finish it off with grated Parmigiano.
