The "Midori no Ichi" I visited this time is an event held every month at the Western confectionery shop "Patisserie Le Vert" located in Hiroe, Kurashiki City, and each time it has a specific theme.
The theme for February 11, 2023 (Saturday) was "Harmony".
Looking at the list of shops, it seems there are handmade shops centered around restaurants.
I imagined what kind of "harmony" each shop might have as I headed there.
Arriving at the shop
As I drove towards the shop, I soon spotted the sign for "Midori no Ichi".
The white letters on the black sign stand out well.

Beyond that, I could see tents and what seemed to be food trucks.
I was so excited that I accidentally drove past the parking lot once.
When I turned back and entered the parking lot, there was only one available space.
I parked my car with a sigh of relief.
A relaxed atmosphere throughout the venue
Since I arrived in the early afternoon, unfortunately, there were already several shops that had sold out.
To fully enjoy the event, it seems necessary to visit in the morning.
The venue had six shops outside and eight shops inside.
It was neither noisy nor quiet, but had a relaxed atmosphere.
After taking a round while peeking into each shop, I made purchases at several shops.

Three shops to enjoy harmony with "fragrant" elements
Since I hadn't had lunch yet that day, I made a purchase at a shop that attracted me with its aroma.
Charcutier "Alpini"
First, I ordered a homemade smoked bacon sandwich from "Alpini".
When I ordered, they cooked it right there on the spot.

While it was being made, a wonderfully savory and delicious aroma wafted through the air.
Although it wasn't displayed outside, I heard that the back half of the vehicle is a small kitchen.
Between the bread, there was the bacon that had just been cooked and lettuce.

Thanks to the bacon fat and sauce, I didn't feel the simplicity of the ingredients, and I found myself exclaiming "What is this!" multiple times until I finished eating.
To fully enjoy the bacon fat, it's recommended to eat it while it's hot.
"mumrik coffee" offering coffee and Finnish vintage tableware
At "mumrik coffee", I enjoyed their recommended "honey and spice au lait".
I often drink café au lait, but this was my first time with spices.
The coffee is carefully dripped right there on the spot.

The honey used is a type that is close to a rough paste from Finland.
I had imagined a strong flavor because of the spices, but it turned out to have a very gentle aroma.
As I drank, the flavor changed, possibly because honey remained at the bottom, and I finished it in no time.

Coffee bean art "Gham no Atrie"
After that, I purchased coffee art made with coffee beans from "mumrik coffee".

This is a work from "Gham no Atrie".
It is a piece created by sticking finely crushed coffee beans onto a canvas.
The creation time is over an hour for small pieces, and over 50 hours for larger sizes around A4.
I purchased a picture of Gum-kun, the shop's character.
I feel like I want to take it out of the frame to enjoy the aroma, but I will refrain as the coffee grounds might fall out.

Other shops
The other shops also focus on quality ingredients and works.
It's recommended to either prepare a larger budget or to be able to use electronic payments.
▼ Patisserie Le Vert
There were many varieties, including chiffon cakes, scones, and rice flour canelé.

▼ Nash Curry American
That day, I had mille-feuille katsu curry.

▼ Misaki Blue Farm Kanchiku
Mochi usually hardens when it cools, but this "soft bean mochi" is so fluffy that it feels like it was just pounded.
The black soybeans are also soft, making it a convenient mochi for snacking.

▼ *shii* (C)
There are many accessories with various materials and atmospheres.
Next to it, there was a corner where children could connect beads to make bracelets.

▼manmarusorairo
A variety of mascots with expressions ranging from curious faces, frowns, smiles, to blank stares are lined up.

▼La.flure
You can participate in a workshop to make hair ties using tatami edging.
I was surprised by the cute patterns that don't look like tatami edging at all.

▼mai.
There are many fluffy succulents planted in the potted plants.

▼buccan_foodtruck
The freshly fried chicken wing tulips come in three flavors: medium spicy, sweet, and flavored salt.

The glossy meat "Lu Rou Fan" was also very popular and had already sold out.

▼Bread House Bure
Bread House Bure from Kumenan-cho also sold out.

▼Strawberry Shop ROSSO
I wanted to eat the ripe strawberries, but they were also sold out by the time I arrived.

Conclusion
The theme for the next event on March 4, 2023 (Saturday) is soy sauce.
The soy sauce used at each booth is from Shiodaniya Brewery.
I am very excited to see how the food menu will collaborate with Western sweets and soy sauce.
The photos posted on Instagram all look delicious.
