What is Café Geibunkan? A café located within Geibunkan Hall

Café Geibunkan, as the name suggests, is a café located within the multipurpose event hall of Kurashiki City, Geibunkan Hall.
The café Geibunkan is housed in a building with a red brick exterior that juts out on the east side of the Geibunkan building.
The ivy-covered exterior is impressive and reminiscent of Kurashiki Ivy Square.
▼The interior is spacious.

There is plenty of space between the seats, making it seem like a comfortable place to spend time.
▼The counter has 4 seats.

▼There are also terrace seats.

Pets are allowed on the terrace seats.
Additionally, pets are allowed inside only if they are in a cage.
Also, the night service at Café Geibunkan is by reservation only.

Popular and recommended menu items at Café Geibunkan
Café Geibunkan has a variety of menu items.
Here are some recommended and popular menu items from the staff.
"Keema Curry" is a carefully crafted dish made by staff who love curry

First, the signature dish of Café Geibunkan, Keema Curry.
▼The abundant minced meat and the yolk in the center catch the eye.

▼Alongside the minced meat and yolk, the abundance of vegetables is also striking.

▼The vegetables included are eggplant, carrot, zucchini, Ebisu pumpkin, and asparagus.

Please note that the vegetables change with the seasons.
For example, as winter approaches, sweet potatoes may be added.

▼Keema curry comes with a salad and carrot rapé.

▼Carrot rapé is a French home cooking dish with a tangy flavor.

Depending on the season, the carrot rapé may be replaced with pickles or other items.
"Hayashi Rice" has a rich flavor from slow-cooked tomatoes, butter, and beef

In addition to curry, a popular item among customers is hayashi rice.
Hayashi rice is rich in umami because it is slow-cooked with tomatoes, butter, and beef.
Another point is that it is made with the moisture contained in the ingredients rather than using much water.
Additionally, the generous amount of ingredients is a secret to its popularity.
Using 100% Shirobara Milk, "Daisen Farm Roll Cake" and "Daisen Farm Cafe Au Lait" are unique to a milk shop!
Mr. Oda, the representative of Cafe Kurashiki Geibunkan, is also the head of a long-established milk shop.
From his experience in the milk shop, he highly recommends Daisen Dairy's Shirobara Milk.
At Cafe Kurashiki Geibunkan, they offer a menu featuring Shirobara Milk.
▼ The main menu items using Shirobara Milk are as follows (prices as of September 2019).
| Menu | Price (tax included) |
|---|---|
| Daisen Farm Roll Cake (plain, matcha) | 600 yen |
| Ice Cream (Daisen Farm Vanilla) | 350 yen |
| Daisen Farm Cafe Au Lait | 550 yen |
| Daisen Farm Milk | 400 yen |
▼ The standout item on the menu using Shirobara Milk is the Daisen Farm Roll Cake, which is generously filled with cream.

The Daisen Farm Roll Cake is also recommended in matcha flavor, but the plain version allows you to fully enjoy the rich flavor of Shirobara Milk.
▼ The cream had a moderate sweetness and a rich milk flavor.

▼ The cake is fluffy with a moist texture.

▼ The roll cake is sprinkled with a traditional sweet called oiru.

Oiru is a traditional specialty from Kagawa Prefecture.
▼ It was flavored with condensed milk.

Additionally, you can add ice cream for an extra 150 yen.
There are several flavors of ice cream, but the vanilla flavor uses Shirobara Milk, so it is recommended.
▼ The Daisen Dairy Cafe Au Lait (iced) is also a popular item made with Shirobara Milk.

It has a stronger milk flavor than commercially available "Shirobara Coffee".
Since it does not contain sugar, please add your preferred amount of syrup.

If you want to taste the flavor of Shirobara Milk more directly, I recommend the Daisen Farm Milk.
