Located not far from the Bikan Historical Area, the authentic Neapolitan pizza specialty store "PIZZAドコロNOLA".
I used to think that pizza tasted the same no matter where you ate it... but the authentic Neapolitan pizza here captivated me instantly.
The charm of this place is that, despite being close to a tourist spot, you can enjoy it at a reasonable price, as they want people to feel free to drop by.
It's a hidden gem lunch spot perfect for families or for enjoying a leisurely meal alone.
I want you to try the delicious Neapolitan pizza that will make you want to come back for more, so let me introduce it.
"PIZZAドコロNOLA" in a quiet environment facing Kurashiki Chuo Street

The atmosphere of "PIZZAドコロNOLA" is reminiscent of a foreign trattoria (casual dining). Although it is located along a major road, it has a surprisingly calm and quiet environment.

There is also a parking lot next to the store. Since it is a bit far from JR Kurashiki Station, having a parking lot is helpful.

Takeout is on the first floor, while eat-in is on the second floor.
Eat-in area with a large stone oven and a view of Kurashiki

Upon entering the store, there is a waiting area for takeout and the kitchen.

In the kitchen, a large stone oven imported from Naples is burning brightly.
The owner trained at a pizza specialty store that was originally in the same location and opened this store independently along with the stone oven.
“This year (2019) marks our fifth year,” the owner’s wife said happily, as they manage the store together as a couple.

Inside the stone oven, firewood is being burned. It takes about two hours to heat up, and even from a distance, you can feel the considerable heat.

Let's go up the stairs to the second-floor eat-in area. The stairs are a bit steep, so please be careful if you have small children or elderly people with you.

From the second floor, you can enjoy the relaxed townscape of Kurashiki. If you're alone, I recommend the counter seat by the window.

In addition to the counter, there are three table seats. It seems that families with children often visit on holidays.
16 types of handmade pizza from scratch, with a la carte options

Using flour imported from Italy and made with carefully selected ingredients, there are a total of 16 types of pizza.
The owner told me, “Neapolitan pizza is a pizza you eat the dough,” and it seems that there is considerable attention to the dough-making process, which is the foundation.

There are also delicious a la carte (side dishes) and drink menus. In the evening, you can enjoy pizza along with light dishes (antipasto) that can be eaten before the pizza.

There are also set menus available only during lunch hours. There are drink sets and sets with drinks and salad.

By the way, here are the top 3 popular pizzas. I want to try them all!
The most popular Margherita DOC, where "DOC" refers to mozzarella certified by the Campania region of Italy. It is a luxurious and special dish made with fresh buffalo mozzarella.
How luxurious! Recommended quattro formaggi for cheese lovers

After much deliberation, I ordered the owner’s recommendation, "Quattro Formaggi" (1,350 yen including tax) along with a salad and drink set (324 yen including tax).
These prices are as of September 2019.
- Fresh mozzarella
- Blue cheese gorgonzola
- Washed rind taleggio
- Parmigiano-Reggiano
This dish, topped with four types of cheese, is irresistible for cheese lovers.

The pungent aroma of gorgonzola, the savory scent of Parmigiano, the deep flavor of taleggio, and the creaminess of mozzarella.
It can be said that this is the ultimate pizza for cheese lovers.
The aroma of Parmigiano reaches even to the crust, making it a pizza that allows you to enjoy cheese in its entirety.

The weight of the melted cheese is incredible! And the dough firmly supports the cheese.
In any case, the chewy dough is wonderful and has a presence that does not lose to the four types of cheese.

Just when I was savoring the deliciousness of the cheese, honey made its appearance! This is... truly delicious to the point of making my body tremble.
The saltiness of the cheese combined with the sweetness of the honey. I experienced the ultimate "sweet and salty".

The Caesar salad is also a generous portion, allowing you to enjoy plenty of fresh vegetables.
Margherita and Spicy Diavola. Find your favorite pizza!

This is the popular "Margherita".
With tomato sauce, basil, Parmigiano, and mozzarella, it’s a classic, but the deliciousness of the dough stands out.

The pizza named "Spagna".
With tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, and the saltiness of anchovies, this pizza pairs well with drinks.

The pizza topped with ham and corn, "Panna e Mais".
With a cream sauce, this dish is likely to please those who are not fond of tomatoes and children.

The owner’s favorite, as well as mine, is this "Diavola".
This slightly spicy pizza topped with salami and chili on a tomato sauce base is said to be popular among foreigners as well. It pairs excellently with the dough.
I just want to deliver simply delicious pizza.

I simply want people to enjoy delicious pizza, and today, the owner continues to stand in front of the stone oven.
Through the interview, I felt a simple yet strong desire to "deliver delicious food."
I was deeply impressed by how delicious pizza can be at "Pizza Dokoro NOLA".
While it has a casual atmosphere where you can drop by, it’s amazing that you can enjoy such delicious pizza in Kurashiki.
Please make sure to visit Kurashiki to taste authentic Neapolitan pizza.
